Impact Wrestling Preview knows Eric Young has proven himself to be many things, and at the moment he’s a target for Willie Mack and Eddie Edwards’ fury.
Young made a lasting impression on his return to Impact Wrestling at Slammiversary, but his story initially took a backseat to Rich Swann’s return after being off for seven months due to injury.
That’s not something Young was ready to deal with, especially when Swann eliminated him from his quest to win the vacant Impact World Championship.

A marked man
So, Young decided it was time to take things into his own hands and reinjured Swann.
This put him squarely in the crosshairs of newly crowned Impact World Champion Eddie Edwards, and Young took advantage of that fact by antagonizing Edwards at the earliest opportunity.
Edwards chose to focus on the bigger picture until Young decided to strike.
Unfortunately, Edwards had no clue what was about to happen.
Last week, Rich Swann appeared at the Impact Zone and announced his retirement.
After an emotional goodbye where the locker room came out to see him off, Young attacked him on the ramp and beat him with his own crutch before running off.
Willie Mack’s revenge
Having Edwards watching out for him was one thing as he had to concern himself with defending the world title every week, but Willie Mack is another story.
Wille Mack is shifting his focus from his rematch with Chris Bey for the X Division Championship to his match with Young tonight.
Since this is a grudge match, we expect this to be a brutal and intense match that could steal the show.
While we’d love for Mack to win, we don’t see how he’ll pull it off with the tear Young’s on.
More than anything, losing now would rob Young of the momentum he’s building to face Edwards for the Impact World Championship at the next pay-per-view, most likely.
Now, if Mack loses by disqualification, Young’s momentum will continue and we could see Mack get a modicum of revenge by taking a pound of Young’s flesh.
Young would get away, but not before taking a few shots and heightening this feud going forward as well.
It really just depends on what the powers-that-be have in mind for Edwards and Young’s showdown.
If it’s not for a while yet, Young and Mack could give us some great matches as they continue to build each other up.
