For years now, Renee Young has been WWE’s greatest multitool, able to handle backstage interviews, commentary duties, pre-show panels, and shows like Talking Smack and WWE Backstage. However, this will no longer be the case as she looks to leave WWE after eight years as part of WWE. She has given WWE her notice a week ago, and will be out sooner rather than later.
Renee Young’s Next Moves Aren’t As Obvious As They Seem
While part of the WWE roster, Renee would meet her husband, who is now the AEW Heavyweight Champion, Jon Moxley. With Renee being one of the best in the world as far as broadcast personalities in wrestling goes, AEW would be fools to not at least try to get her on their roster.
However, Young also has a foot into the door of media giant Fox. WWE Backstage might have been a WWE pitched show, but it was produced by Fox at the end of the day, with Renee Young being one of the main cast on that show. She had a chance to show her skills, and would be an asset to any of their sports based coverage.
Renee Young Is Going To Be A Hot Free Agent
Her resume speaks for itself, and she always gave 110% when able. While her stint on Monday Night RAW commentary wasn’t fantastic, she still tried her best to make it work. This has led to her building up a large and vocal fanbase, which is sure to help attract bigger sports organizations to her now that she is a free agent.
We will likely see her show up in AEW at some point, even just as a one off, but there aren’t any open roles for her at this time, especially if they’re to bring on Veda Scott. Renee clearly loves professional wrestling, having been involved with it for nearly a decade. That could be what draws her into AEW, alongside being able to work with her husband again. Who wouldn’t want to see Jon & Renee Moxley beat up Cody & Brandi Rhodes?
