New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) continued the road to Summer Struggle in Jingu featured event yesterday in front of a socially distanced crowd of 630 at the Yawatahama Citizen Sports Center.
The marquee match saw Los Ingobernables de Japon (LIJ) members IWGP Heavyweight and IWGP Intercontinental ‘Double Championship’ V2 challenger Tetsuya Naito, IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion Hiromu Takahashi, and Sanada defeat Bullet Club members IWGP Heavyweight and IWGP Intercontinental ‘Double Champion’ Evil, IWGP Junior Heavyweight V2 challenger Taiji Ishimori, and Dick Togo at the 12 minute and 4-second mark when Naito pinned Togo after his Destino technique. The fall loss for Togo was his first since rejoining NJPW.

The headline match saw CHAOS members former five-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada, one-third of the NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Champions Hirooki Goto, and Sho defeat Bullet Club members Yujiro Takahashi and the Impact Players (Gedo/Jado) at the 10 minute and 48-second mark when Goto pinned Gedo with his GTR technique.
Okada and Yujiro will meet on August 26th in the first round of the KOPW (seemingly King of Pro Wrestling) Title tournament for a spot in the August 29th finals at Summer Struggle in Jingu.
The final undercard match saw the Hontai team of IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championship V1 challengers Golden Ace (Hiroshi Tanahashi/Kota Ibushi), Hiroyoshi Tenzan, and Master Wato defeat Suzuki-Gun members IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions Dangerous Tekkers (Taichi/Zack Sabre Jr), Yoshinobu Kanemaru, and Douki when Tanahashi pinned Douki at the 12 minute and 25-second mark after landing his High Fly Flow technique.

The third match saw Suzuki-Gun members NEVER Openweight Championship V4 challenger Minoru Suzuki and El Desperado defeat LIJ members NEVER Openweight Champion Shingo Takagi and Bushi at the 11 minute and 17-second mark when Suzuki pinned Bushi with the Gotch Style Piledriver.

The second match saw CHAOS members two-thirds of the NEVER Openweight 6-Man Championship team Tomohiro Ishii and Yoshi-Hashi team with their CHAOS mate Toru Yano to defeat Hontai members Yuji Nagata, Tomoaki Honma, and NJPW Noge Dojo Young Lion Yuya Uemura. Yoshi-Hashi submitted Uemura with his Butterfly Lock technique at the 10 minute and 47-second mark.
The opening match saw Hontai members Satoshi Kojima and Ryusuke Taguchi defeat NJPW Noge Dojo Young Lion Yota Tsuji and NJPW Los Angeles (LA) Dojo Young Lion Gabriel Kidd in 10 minutes and 47 seconds when Kojima pinned Tsuji with a Lariat.
The August 13th Summer Struggle event at the Uwajima City Overall Gymnasium was canceled due to precautions taken after a wrestler contracted a fever and went under COVID-19 testing.
