One of the rising tag teams in WWE NXT is Ever-Rise, who pride themselves on being one of the most true tag teams in WWE. They’ve had a very hard time translating that trueness into victories, but as they face Mikey Spandex & Marquis Carter, their odds look better than usual. Will the French Canadians finally get another win?
Ever-Rise Couldn’t Lose This One
Chase Parker would start alongside Spandex, and would win the opening lockup and get a hard hammerlock in. Some slaps to the back of the head and a few quick tags in and out would start this match off right. Mr. Spandex would show some athletic prowess, but Ever-Rise would look to maintain their control. A scoop slam into a standing splash however would catch Parker for a one count.
Parker would come back with a hard back suplex, followed by some hard right hands. Martel would be tagged in, and slam Spandex into the corner and use his size to gain control. You really doubt he makes the 205lb limit sometimes. He’d drop some heavy elbow drops before trapping an arm to grind him down.
Carter would try to motivate his partner to get the tag, and Spandex would slip out of a back suplex, and hit a nice dropkick to get the distance to make this tag possible. In this match for the first time, Carter would pick the pace up with some running forearms and a springboard back elbow off the middle rope.
His control wouldn’t last, and he’d take a hard release German Suplex from Martel. A backbreaker into a running knee strike from Ever-Rise would continue his downfall, and a drop toehold into an elbow drop off the back of Martel would see Parker crash down right onto Carter’s back and neck.
Spandex would be sent off the apron with an elbow, and a flapjack/codebreaker combination would put the lights of Carter out. Ever-Rise got a long awaited second win in WWE.
Spandex & Carter Show Tag Team Potential
While this match was a platform to raise Ever-Rise up, you can’t help but also be impressed by Mikey Spandex & Marquis Carter. They’re known as Task Force on the indies, having teamed since 2019. Between their matching gear and slight offense, they certainly showed potential. WWE needs tag teams right now, and these guys clearly know what they’re doing in the ring.
Do you want to see more of the Task Force in WWE NXT? Should they take Ever-Rises role of the resident tag team jobbers over? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
