Shane Thorne did not last under the bright lights of Monday Night RAW. Alongside Brendan Vink, he got a huge win on a previous episode of RAW, before slipping to Main Event and dropping match after match to Ricochet.
He will look to make his return to NXT in a big way, looking to take out his former ally in Australian faction ‘The Mighty Don’t Kneel’. This is Bronson Reed, who is seemingly set for a huge run in NXT after a huge win over both Johnny Gargano & Roderick Strong. He also took a beating from Karrion Kross and got back up without much help.
Will Thorne be able to get a fresh start in NXT, or will his dark cloud from the main roster follow him for a while longer?
Shane Thorne Falls Short Again
While the power advantage is very clear, the speed is a toss up despite the size difference. The opening lock up would be one by Reed, who easily shoved Thorne into the corner, allowing a clean break. Thorne wanted to ‘skip the pleasantries’ and came in with some forearms, Reed barely registering them.
A few hard blows from Reed however had Thorne on the ropes, but a big dropkick would send Reed out. A rolling cannonball through the ropes took him down, but a Full Nelson Slam onto the apron would injure the back of Thorne.
Reed went up top to try for the Tsunami Splash, but Thorne would not allow this. Several running strikes would cut Reed down, and a huge shining wizard would almost give Thorne a much needed win!
He’d take Reed up to look for a submission, but would be dropped with a headbutt. A military press slam followed by a huge senton would get a near fall, with Reed picking him right back up. Thorne struggled out and hit a high roundhouse kick, before they’d trade some lariats and strikes in the middle of the ring.
Something would have to give, and Thorne ran into a lariat which turned him inside out. A death valley driver and a Tsunami Splash later, this one was over.
Bronson Reed Is Looking Like A Favorite To Win
While Thorne looked very good against a very game Bronson Reed, he will have to get his big win elsewhere. Reed is looking damn near unstoppable going into NXT Takeover XXX. The agile powerhouse is dangerous without any tools, and he’s going to have ladders at his disposal during the biggest match of his career.
Reed is looking like a heavy favorite going into this match for the North American Championship. Do you think the Aussie Thicc Boi has gold in his future? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
