On last week’s WWE Raw we got to see the return of one of the greats as Mickie James was interviewed backstage.
Of course, it didn’t take long for Natalya to challenge her by citing her own accomplishments as a welcome.
Well, to be fair, it was more along the line of Valley Girls (Lana was with Natalya) welcoming in a new kid by letting them know who the best is.
James for the win
While we don’t expect James to lose her first match back, this is also Natalya’s first match with this new gimmick, so it should be interesting.
And exciting, as two of the top competitors will face off. The problem for us is how much will they be allowed to do, or how much will be edited out because Vince McMahon won’t like it.
Despite possible meddling/editing, we’re fully confident that Lana will try to interfere, but as heels, their victory will fall just short.
Our reasoning for this is simple — returning stars rarely lose.
As much as we feel Natalya deserves a far better push than she’s gotten, she has been little more than a jobber lately and it’s gotten old.
The Riott Squad returns
Last week, Liv Morgan lost to Peyton Royce on WWE Raw in what has become an interesting if meh feud.
The thing is, these matches are over in the blink of an eye. Not just here and there, but every time.
While the back and forth between the two groups has been entertaining and Morgan and Ruby Riott had a great reunion moment a couple of weeks back, we need to see them wrestle.
Seriously, let us have more than a blink and it’s done match.
It doesn’t matter the combination, these women are too talented to just put a five minute or less match together week after week.
With that in mind, we’re hoping this week proves different, and we’re crossing our fingers for luck.
Ruby Riott will defeat Billie Kay
While this match hasn’t been advertised, it’s what we’ve been treated to the last couple of months.
The formula has been singles match, singles match, tag match; rinse, repeat, and continue.
It’s now Riott’s turn to right the ship for the Riott Squad as she and Morgan continue to work through their issues.
It’ll also set up a potential tag match between them and the Iiconics at SummerSlam to potentially face Bayley and Sasha Banks for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship at WWE Payback.
WWE Payback is on August 30 (exactly a week after SummerSlam) and was originally slated to be the Evolution 2 pay-per-view before the WWE changed it to a seemingly standard POV dur to the pandemic, most likely.
This is just our theory about the WWE Women’s tag titles, but it makes sense with less than a week to prepare for the following pay-per-view.
