Last week on AEW Dynamite, Chris Jericho brutalized Joey Janela in a singles match, beating him down afterwards to send a message of Orange Cassidy. However, after Janela got a win on the Buy In of All Out, saw his partner Sonny Kiss remove Jake Hager from the Casino Battle Royal, and watched Jericho fall into a vat of mimosa? Janela wants a rematch, and it’s going to be No DQ. This is Janelas match of choice, but would Inner Circle stand tall?
Joey Janela & Sonny Kiss Have A Hot Start
Kiss & Janela would make their way to the ring first, sporting an impressive 7-2 tag team record. Meanwhile, Jericho & Hager have a 1-0 record, this being their second time tagging, but they’re known forces in singles, not tag team matches. Jericho had Floyd in hand, and was ready for a fight after All Out.
Jericho would start with Janela, starting off with something resembling a hockey fight. Janela would drop Jericho with a lariat, and be beaten down on the mat before getting back to his feet, only to be taken down again. Kiss would come in, and a double flapjack to the rope and a double bulldog would follow.
Jericho would make the comeback briefly, only to be taken down by a kick from Kiss. Janela would be tagged back in, and they’d both dive off the top rope onto Inner Circle. Finally a chair was brought into this match, Janela nailing Jericho with it. He’d set the chair up and launch himself off it into the corner, only to be caught and suplexed onto said chair.
Chris Jericho & Jake Hager Dominate This One
Throughout the commercial break, Janela would be isolated in the corner of Inner Circle, being battered by Hager & Jericho before being thrown to the outside. Jericho would go for Kiss, Hager grabbed a table and they’d set it up. Janela would just fight out of a powerbomb attempt, driving Hager into the ringpost instead.
They’d make their way back to the ring, and Jericho would tag in and kick Janela in the throat. Janela would fight back and use a chair Jericho propped in the corner earlier to his advantage, and both Kiss & Hager came into this match.
It would be speed and grace against brute power, and Kiss would get the upper hand until Jericho got involved with a trash can. Kiss threw Jericho to the outside, but would be hit from behind. Hager would try to get a Hager bomb using the trash can, but this ended poorly for him. Janela threw Hager out, and would go after Jericho on the stage. Instead, he’d be slingshotted into Hagers waiting arms, and thrown through the table.
Going For Tag Team Gold
Realizing he’s alone, Kiss would dive onto both members of Inner Circle and go into another gear. Jericho & Hager would be taken out, but a fire extinguisher spray to the face would stun Kiss, and Hager would slam him down for the pinfall.
Jericho would get on the microphone, and express just how bad All Out was for Inner Circle. He intends to build up some wins alongside Hager, and get a shot at the AEW Tag Team Championships in due time. Will they be able to beat FTR? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
