Fighting Spirit Unleashed 2020: Night Two Preview
A Look At The Second Night Of The Featured Event
The sixth episode of New Japan Strong sees night two of the Fighting Spirit Unleashed 2020 tour host several interesting matches. The marquee showcases a rematch from the second New Japan Strong episode, as Kenta and Jeff Cobb meet once more.
However, this time the match is for an opportunity to make the V3 challenge against Jon Moxley during his current reign (second) with the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship.
With Kenta and Cobb, both announced for G1 Climax 30 this match represents an opportunity for both to gain momentum entering the most prestigious professional wrestling tournament.
The headline match of the event sees former six-time IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions Guerrillas of Destiny (G.O.D.) [Tama Tonga/Tanga Loa] wrestle former IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champion David Finlay and Ring of Honor (ROH) competitor PJ Black.
G.O.D. are overwhelming favorites, but Finlay and Black could find the chemistry necessary to capture a surprise victory over their prolific opponents.
Tama Tonga will want to avenge his New Japan Cup 2020 USA semi-finals loss to Finlay which happened during the second episode of New Japan Strong.
The second match sees Rocky Romero take on Danny Limelight. Over the past several weeks, the two have traded respectful comments regarding one another and wanting to compete against each other.
The two also had a nice in-ring exchange during the third New Japan Strong episode during a tag team match.
While Romero is the favorite, Danny Limelight could use this opportunity to secure a future with New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) in the United States and Japan.
On paper, the team of ACH and the COVID-19 (Coronavirus, 2019) truther TJP has a huge advantage against Adrian Quest and Logan Riegel. However, Quest and Riegel are fighting for spots within the New Japan Pro Wrestling of America (NJoA) brand, and won’t back down.
