G1 Climax 30 Night 6 sees the third night of B Block action after several surprising results during night 3.
Naito (LIJ) [4 Points] v Goto (CHAOS) [2 Points]
In the marquee of G1 Climax Night 4, IWGP Heavyweight and IWGP Intercontinental ‘Double Champion’ and Los Ingobernables de Japon (LIJ) leader Tetsuya Naito was able to win an extremely competitive match against one of his rivals the former four-time Revolution Pro Wrestling (RevPro) Undisputed British Heavyweight Champion, Zack Sabre Jr.
The former two-time IWGP Intercontinental Champion and five-time NEVER Openweight Champion Hirooki Goto was able to defeat Sanada in a somewhat surprising result.
Naito has a 6-2 overall singles record against Goto and is 5-0 against him within the G1. A win over Naito would solidify Goto as the dark horse within B Block of G1 Climax 30.
Evil (Bullet Club) [2 Points] v Toru Yano (CHAOS) [4 Points]
The headline match of G1 Climax 30 Night 6 sees Evil take on Toru Yano, in a match that could go either way depending on Yano’s crafty tricks. While Evil is 2-0 against Yano, defeating him in G1 Climax 26 and G1 Climax 28, he will likely be wary of Yano.
Yano has started the tournament with wins over LIJ member Sanada and the former eight-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion Hiroshi Tanahashi. Evil dropped his opening match to Zack Sabre Jr and defeated CHAOS member Yoshi-Hashi on G1 Climax 30 Night 4; therefore, he’s looking to keep pace with Block B leaders.
Tanahashi (Hontai) [0 Points] v Juice (Hontai) [4 Points]
The winner of G1 Climax 17, 25, and 28 is in a must-win scenario early during G1 Climax 30. Former eight-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion, two-time IWGP Intercontinental Champion, and RevPro Undisputed British Heavyweight Champion Hiroshi Tanahashi began the tournament with losses to ‘Double Champion’ Tetsuya Naito and Toru Yano.
Former two-time IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion Juice Robinson has been on a roll during his return to in-ring action with victories over Yoshi-Hashi and New Japan Cup USA 2020 winner Kenta.
A win over Tanahashi would mean wonders for the career of Juice Robinson and put him in a great position to win Block B during G1 Climax 30.
Kenta (Bullet Club) [2 Points] v Zack Sabre Jr (Suzuki-Gun) [2 Points]
In an interesting clash of styles, Zack Sabre Jr faces former NEVER Openweight Champion and New Japan Cup 2020 USA winner Kenta.
Zack Sabre Jr opened his tournament by defeating former ‘Double Champion’ and NEVER Openweight Champion Evil, yet lost to current ‘Double Champion’ Tetsuya Naito in a great match during G1 Climax Night 4.
Kenta began G1 Climax 30 with a victory over rival Hirooki Goto but dropped his next match to Juice Robinson. This is a key swing match for both competitors as they look to position themselves near the top of B Block.
Sanada (LIJ) [0 Points] v Yoshi-Hashi (Suzuki-Gun) [0 Points]
One of the favorites to win G1 Climax 30 and take the next step in his career, Sanada has gotten off to a slow start with losses to both Toru Yano and Hirooki Goto.
Yoshi-Hashi gave spirited efforts against Juice Robinson and Evil, but was unable to take the victory from either.
Both need a victory here if they don’t want to fall into a desperate 0-3 start.
