There has been a talent drought in the AEW Women’s Division, with a bulk of their roster unable to travel overseas to show up in AEW. This left a skeleton crew of Hikaru Shida, Britt Baker, Nyla Rose, Kris Statlander and Big Swole. Baker & Statlander would fall to injury, and others had to step up. They’ve remained afloat, and another talented name is ready to rejoin the roster.
Shanna Is Coming Back To The United States
Like others, Shanna got stuck overseas, with her ending up stuck in France. Now, she’s making her way back to the United States. AEW and Special Olympics Illinois hosted a Rocket League tournament on Twitch, having 8 wrestlers going against 8 special Olympics athletes. This raised about $1,300 for Special Olympics Illinois, a decent success all things considered.
One of the AEW wrestlers involved was Shanna, who was still overseas in France during this tournament. She’d mention the following when talking about the event to the press. “It was a lot of fun to do it with my coworkers, and meet new people, having fun. I’m leaving next week to spend 14 days in a neutral, non-banned country, by Mr. Trump’s proclamation. After 14 days I can enter the United States. Let’s hope for no road blocks.”
This puts Shanna back in AEW around early November, if not a bit sooner. She’ll likely find some temporary lodging in the meantime, and could move to the United States if planning a long career in AEW.
Another Contender For Hikaru Shida
Shanna was just hitting her stride before having to leave AEW to go home, and is likely to pick up where she left off. With how shallow the talent pool in the division is now, we’re likely to see her get a chance against Hikaru Shida for the AEW Women’s Championship, which will allow fans to see just how far Shanna can go in a big match setting.
She’s a former STARDOM High Speed Champion with 14 years of experience in the ring, and Portugals Perfect Athlete is more than ready to shine in AEW. She’s got the look, got the skills, and will finally have a chance to shine due to the reduced roster.
