The Bouncers Are Earning Their Place In The ROH Tag Division
Ring Of Honor is coming back very soon, starting with a tournament to name a new Pure Champion. However, we can’t forget about the other championships in the company. RUSH is World Champion, Dragon Lee is TV Champion, Bandido, Flamita & Rey Horus are Six Man Tag Champions, and Johnathan Gresham & Jay Lethal are Tag Team Champions. Lethal & Gresham might have a big problem on their hands in Beer City Bruiser & Brian Milonas, The Bouncers.
The Bouncers are a throwback of sorts, a set of heavyweight Bruisers. They’ve faced everyone from The Young Bucks, The Briscoes, Motor City Machine Guns, SCU and more. It has been trial by fire for them, and they’ve come out fine.
Beer City Bruiser & Brian Milonas Never Falter
While speaking with Arm Drag Takeover with Pollo Del Mar, Beer City Bruiser would speak on how they made the most of their big chance. The Bouncers were set for a rapid rise, they were thrown together and thrown into matches, including a big six man tag match with Silas Young against Cody Rhodes & The Young Bucks. “We took that as an opportunity to really prove ourselves. When they told us about that, Brian & I looked at each other and said ‘This is our chance to show everybody we belong to be in the same conversation as everybody else, with all the other teams.’
After this feud, they would get into a feud with The Briscoe Brothers. They took that challenge in stride, like every match. Even when faced by Hirooki Goto in New Japan Pro Wrestling, Beer City Bruiser was ready. “I’m wrestling one of the top guys in New Japan, which should be intimidating to me, but it’s now my chance to show I belong in that conversation.”
This Is What Will Make The Bouncers Into Champions
Neither Bruiser or Milonas are the type to be intimidated. “Any time you put us up against an SCU, a Briscoe Brothers, a Young Bucks, we wanted to be included in that conversation. I think doing those matches open people’s eyes, like ‘Holy cow! They do belong there!’.
They have the hearts of champions, and that is what hopefully will bring them to the title picture in 2021. The next TV tapings are dominated by the Pure Title Tournament, but hopefully the next tapings has The Bouncers involved, and the tag team division get some shine.
