After a few weeks on Tuesday nights, NXT is back to it’s traditional home on Wednesday nights. They plan on coming back with a big splash, with a night of big action capped off by the NXT North American Championship & NXT Tag Team Championships on the line. Let’s break down what to expect from WWE’s Black & Gold brand this week.

Io Shirai faces Shotzi Blackheart

After warding off Aliyah & Robert Stone together last week, Shotzi Blackheart would put a bit too much attention on Io Shirai’s NXT Women’s Championship. Shirai, while friendly with Blackheart, let her know that she won’t hesitate to put her down like all the rest. This will be a non-title match, but should Shotzi slip away with a victory? We will be seeing Blackheart get her first NXT Women’s Championship match very very soon.

Breezango Defends Against Imperium

After five years in WWE together, Tyler Breeze & Fandango finally won some gold. This was the NXT Tag Team Championships, won by beating Imperium members Fabian Aichner & Marcel Bartel. Now Imperium wants their championships back, to prove Breezangos victory was a mere fluke. A loss tonight would make Breezango the shortest reigning NXT Tag Team Champions in history, and they’re going to have to dig deep to find a way to walk away with the glory.

Damien Priest Defends Against Timothy Thatcher

At NXT Takeover XXX, one of the new champions was Damien Priest who won the ladder match for the then vacant NXT North American Championship. Now, he has to hold onto it, with his first opponent being the vicious grappler known as Timothy Thatcher. Thatcher would mock how Priest carried himself as a champion, and point out the flaws in Priests style during a Thatch-as-Thatch-can class. Thatcher could ensure Priest doesn’t notch even a single defense, or just be the first of many to fall to Priest as he makes a reign that will let him live in infamy.

Also announced for this show is Drake Maverick & Killian Dain getting revenge against Undisputed Era members Bobby Fish & Roderick Strong. We can expect to hear from our new NXT Champion as well, after Finn Balor beat Adam Cole for the vacant championship last week.

What match are you most looking forward to tonight on NXT? Will they bring in as many viewers on Wednesday as they did the past two Tuesdays? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
