Moments After The October 10, 2020 G1 Climax 30 Night 14 Marquee Match Began via New Japan World

The marquee match of G1 Climax 30 Night 14 saw current IWGP Heavyweight and IWGP Intercontinental ‘Double Champion’ and Los Ingobernables de Japon (LIJ) leader Tetsuya Naito face former IWGP Heavyweight and IWGP Intercontinental ‘Double Champion’ and Bullet Club member Evil.

This was the first singles match between the two since Naito defeated Evil during Summer Struggle in Jingu for the ‘Double Championship.’ Their first singles match of 2020 saw Evil win the ‘Double Championship’ from Naito, the night after he joined Bullet Club.

G1 Climax 30: Naito v Evil

Naito came into the match having defeated former two-time IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion Juice Robinson during G1 Climax 30 Night 12 while Evil gained a victory over former eight-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion Hiroshi Tanahashi on the same night.

The match itself saw Naito take it to Evil, yet unable to keep a sustained advantage due to the former LIJ members reliance on underhanded tactics and his manager Dick Togo.

Despite being at the disadvantage, Naito showed his fighting spirit and was able to come close to defeating Evil for the second straight time. However, Evil was able to find the extra motivation when he needed it the most with his G1 Climax 30 campaign coming to a cross road.

Evil would gain the fall at the 23 minutes and 57 seconds mark with his EVIL technique to raise his point total to 10 points and give him the tiebreaker over Naito.

Evil finishes the tournament with matches against CHAOS member and former two-time IWGP Intercontinental Champion Hirooki Goto (October 14th) and his former Cold Darkness partner Sanada (October 17th).

Naito finishes the tournament against CHAOS member and current KOPW (presumably King of Pro Wrestling) titleholder Toru Yano and former NEVER Openweight Champion and Bullet Club member, Kenta.

While Naito is already ‘Double Champion’ winning G1 Climax would cement himself as being on better form than any other wrestler in the world, but he will now need a loss from Evil to advance to the G1 Climax 30 Finals.
