In the last few months, due to two excellent matches in AEW, Ben Carter has become a new favorite of wrestling fans everywhere. These matches against Lee Johnson on Dark and Scorpio Sky on Late Night Dynamite had everyone asking for AEW to sign the young wrestler, but right now it’s not meant to be.
He worked these matches for free due to not having a work visa for the United States, just a student visa, but wrestling is his passion and had no issues there. It might be some time before AEW fans see Ben Carter on their shows as well, as he seems to have signed with WWE, the home of his trainer: Seth Rollins.
Ben Carter Could Become An Instant Star In NXT UK
While working in the United States is tricky for Ben Carter right now, if he can make his way back to the UK, WWE has the perfect spot for him. NXT UK is back and arguably better than ever, but are working with a lesser roster. Bringing in a standout talent like Ben Carter would only make the show better, and you could honestly put him right into the fray with a champion like WALTER or Jordan Devlin, and by his talent alone, he’d become a star. Add in potential matches with A-Kid, Pete Dunne, Noam Dar and more, and it’s hard to not see Ben Carter becoming a fan favorite for the brand.
With Seth Rollins being one of the men who trained him, it was unlikely at best that Carter would end up anywhere else, and that is a powerful ally to have high up in the company looking out for you. Rollins might have not held a World Championship in a while, but remains a cornerstone of WWE programming, and likely has some pull backstage. A strong connection, a deep pool of natural talent, and youth is a great way to get started in WWE.
Him being signed by WWE was leaked by AEW signee Miro, who on a Twitch Stream mentioned how ‘we lost Ben Carter’. Do you think we will be seeing Carter officially signed to WWE in the coming weeks? Will he join NXT UK? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
