There will be another exciting night of UFC action this coming Saturday as two of the most dominant featherweights in the UFC come to blows. The UFC Fight Night card will be headlined by Brian Ortega against Chan Sung Jung.
But, there is also a number of enticing fights on the undercard for fans to also look forward to. Among those include undefeated heavyweight Ciryl Gane vs Ante Delija and Katlyn Chookagian against Jessica Andrade.
UFC News: Ortega Looking To For Huge Win On Return
Brian Ortega’s perfect professional record came to an end in his last fight, as he was beaten by TKO by Max Holloway. However, it has been nearly two years since Ortega’s last fight in the octagon, which means that there are an awful lot of questions surrounding his condition for this Saturday’s fight. Before that title defeat against Holloway, Ortega had won his last six, which meant that he was unbeaten in the UFC for three years.
He beat some illustrious opponents during that time, including Frankie Edgar. That victory over Edgar remains one of the most dominant in his career as he knocked him out inside the first round to earn the performance of the night award. However, he has never been far from controversy as he also has one no-contest on his record after being tested positive for a banned substance after beating Mike De La Torre. Controversy also followed at UFC 248 earlier in the year where he allegedly slapped Chan Sung Jung’s translator, Jay Park.
UFC News: Korean Zombie Looking For Three Wins On The Bounce
Chan Sung Jung is rightly regarded as one of the best featherweights in the UFC, and is currently ranked at number six in the official ratings. He will come into this fight looking to win three on the bounce for the second time in his UFC career. Defeat against Jose Aldo in his only featherweight title bout ended that sequence, but he has still won his last two fights in the past 18 months.
The most recent of those came against Edgar, as he knocked out his opponent inside the opening round. He also earned a first round knock out win in the fight before this against Renato Moicano. Those two fights both saw the Korean Zombie awarded the performance of the night. The fact that his last fight in the octagon was only ten months ago could be a huge factor.
