SmackDown last week saw the WWE Draft get underway, but it wasn’t a successful night for all superstars, as a number of them weren’t drafted at all during the draft. It is unclear at present what could be the plan moving forward with some of these stars, but we predict what could be the direction that some of them travel in now that they are officially free agents.
WWE News: Mickie James
One of the superstars that was less than impressed at being left undrafted during the opening night was Mickie James. The former women’s champion voiced her displeasure at being undrafted on social media with a number of posts claiming that the decision not to pick her was a mistake.
However, it’s unlikely that she will be a free agent for too long, and we could see her make an appearance back on Raw tonight. James could be involved in the battle royal to determine Asuka’s next challenger. It would be interesting to see James win, as she would still have a sense that she was robbed out of a title opportunity a couple of weeks back.
WWE News: Elias
One of the other big names to have been left out of being picked during the draft was Elias. He is one of a number of superstars that have been underused by the company for a number of years now, but his chances of being picked during the draft may have been hindered due to him currently carrying an injury.
There is still no time frame on when Elias could be returning to in-ring action, but it’s unlikely that he will remain a free agent for long once he returns to the WWE after his injury.
WWE News: Shorty G
Shorty G was another superstar that was undrafted during the opening night of the draft, and that would be been considered as a surprise by some fans. He had been competing regularly on SmackDown over the past couple of months, but now it would seem as though he could be moving to Raw.
He is yet another superstar that the WWE have underused, as there is no doubting his in-ring abilities. However, the change in name certainly has played a part in his downfall, and fans will be hoping that there are positive things ahead for Shorty G soon.
