Cruiserweights are looking to steal the spotlight tonight in a six man tag team war. Legado Del Fantasma have staked a consistent claim as the strongest trio WWE NXT has to offer, and their chemistry is second to none. However, Swerve, Ashante Adonis and Jake Atlas are ready to face that chemistry, and hopefully one of them can walk away with a shot against Santos Escobar, and his NXT Cruiserweight Championship.
A Strong Start For The Thrown Together Unit
After a brief standoff, Legado Del Fantasma would circle the ring, before Swerve flipped over the rope and went right after Santos Escobar. A brawl in the ring with the other four would bleed into the start of this match, Atlas & Wilde the legal men. The motley crue of Cruiserweights would take control, Adonis being tagged in and hitting a flapjack on Wilde, before tagging out. Atlas would hit the three amigos, and get a near fall. Wilde would be thrown into the corner and try to slip out, but found the ring post in the worst way.
Atlas would grab the arm and run up the ropes for an armdrag, dodging Escobar on the outside and also catching a diving headscissors, taking out both men. All of Fantasma would be sent to the outside, and Swerve did a spinning dive off the top rope to take them all out before we went to a commercial break.
Throughout the break, Legado Del Fantasma got back into control and Adonis, being crushed with an assisted moonsault from the trio. Adonis is the weak link of his team, a perfect target to isolate. His bell would be rung with a back elbow, Escobar came in and hit some running knees. Mendoza came back in to continue the attack, taunting Adonis’s partners the whole time.
Legado Del Fantasma Take Control
Adonis finally created some space, and managed to hit a big dropkick and finally make the tag. Jake Atlas came in and hit everything that moved, before dumping Escobar on his head with a German Suplex, before tagging Swerve in. Swerve hit a flatliner, before Mendoza came in. However, he’d focus on Escobar and hit a pump kick on the outside.
Mendoza tried to press this advantage, and a mass of bodies would form in front of the announce desk, with Wilde & Atlas knocking them all down. Back in the ring, Swerve would hit the confidence boost, before bringing in Adonis to hit a powerbomb. Channeling Billy Kidman, Mendoza would counter and Escobar came in. Swerve would be hit with the Arrow From The Depths of Hell, Atlas then hitting a Rainbow DDT on the champion.
He forgot about his partner, and Adonis would be taken out by Wilde & Mendoza in the ring, ending this one. Atlas is now set up to take on Escobar, even without the win. Could Atlas be our next champion? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
