One of the biggest injustices in wrestling history might be undone. Five years ago, we saw a cowardly display take place in Stardom, one that led to the premature retirement of Act Yasukawa. She was only three years into her career, and already making waves a future top name in the company.
During a match for the World Of Stardom Championship against Yoshiko, things went horribly wrong. Yoshiko decided to shoot on Yasukawa. She would just brutalize her smaller opponent, and leave her bloody, the match ending in a no-context. Yoshiko would be stripped of the title and released from the company, since finding a home elsewhere. It’s not hard to find this match online, as it’s built up a high level of infamy, but watch at your own risk.
Act would wrestle some more matches, including a fine match with Kairi Sane, but the injuries from the Yoshiko incident combined with Graves disease making her blind in one eye forced Act to hang her boots up at the end of 2015.
Act Yasukawa Has Returned To The Ring
While it’s not for Stardom, just under five years from her last match, Act Yasukawa is back. At an AWG show, she would show up to wrestle a match against Tae Honma, for the first show of their new series ACTRING Team. They want to mix stage theatre and professional wrestling, so very similar to Makai, which AEW Women’s Champion Hikaru Shida is involved with.
This gives someone like Act a chance to get into the ring again, but in a very safe and controlled environment. The show won’t air until a few weeks time, but reports from the event said her match was a legitimately good performance, which gives hope for a bigger return for Act.
This is a big deal, as her story shouldn’t have ended the way it did. Graves disease alone would have shortened her career, but being bashed in the face by Yoshiko did not help. Now, she has a chance to make a return to the ring and control her own story. 2015 wasn’t the ending of the story, just the end of the first chapter.

I’m happy to see Act returning! If you’re alive and well and can still perform at some level, why not continue? Let not what happen finale, finalize it with an overcoming performance.
