In the fourth episode of WWE Monday Night RAW. There’s a return, Tatanka in action, High Energy, and more. Let’s get into this episode!
Storylines On This Episode
We have the return of Brutus Beefcake. He was out of action for three years after being hurt by a parasailer.
Brutus talked with Vince about returning and dropped the most depressing–sounding story on the crowd in attendance.
Two parents passed before his injury, he got divorced, then suffered facial injuries. He’s getting back into the ring because he’s got nothing left.
This crowd had had enough and they were dead for this segment. In the crowd’s defense, this story went on too long and they didn’t even care to cheer for a comeback.
They did cheer when Vince wrapped it up.
Also, there was a salute for Andre the Giant who had just passed. “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan joined the commentators via phone during Yokozuna’s match.
He wants to beat the sumo monster and knock him down. The phone was cutting out and he wrapped his call up as Yoko’s match was short.
It looks like he was calling via 1-800-Collect. WWE Tag Team Champions Money Inc came out and challenged Brutus Beefcake. They flipped a coin and Ted DiBiase won.
The team’s manager, Jimmy Hart, came out and tried to talk his guys out of the match. They said that they wouldn’t get hurt and were aiming to break Brother Bruti’s face again.
Mr. Perfect showed how perfect he was by throwing perfect passes to Steve Jordan of the Vikings. Then this cat threw a hundred-yard pass to himself. Hands down this was the best part of the show.
Low-Tier
The opening match for the fourth episode of WWE Monday Night RAW saw Tatanka defeat Damien Demento. This wasn’t a good match but it wasn’t bad either.
It was a straight-up, short, middle of the road match. I liked the pace of the match but this was a match that no one cared about or asked for, really.
Damien Demento was a bust at this point and Tatanka was still on his undefeated streak. The team of High Energy—Owen Hart and Koko B. Ware—ran through a scrub tag team quickly.
It wasn’t even a fun or brutal squash but it was clean. For those wondering, the scrubs in question were “Iron” Mike Sharpe and Big Vito.
Doink vs. Typhoon was a pretty dry match. It was far from salty because Doink came with the mat wrestling.
This bout was just slow and boring, really. Clean match, no awkwardness, or botching. It was kept very safe which was expected. The crowd was indifferent towards the action.
Yokozuna crushed a scrub posthaste. Jim Duggan called during his match to hype their bout. Lex Luger—who is feuding with Mr. Perfect—squashed another enhancement talent in uninteresting fashion.
WWE Monday Night RAW #4 Verdict: Low-Tier (4.75/10)
While the matches weren’t worth then watch, for the most part, this episode did a good job and pushing storylines along.
The opener between Tatanka and Demento was the match of the episode…which isn’t saying much.
Our episode’s stars of the show were Mr. Perfect catching his own pass without breaking a sweat and Vince McMahon’s “Ha HA!” laugh.
