New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) continued the World Tag League 2020 series (WTL 2020) on November 22, 2020, at the Saku City General Gymnasium in Nagano, Japan. The COVID-19 (Coronavirus, 2019) reduced crowd of 838 made for a lively crowd in the well-lit venue.

The marquee series match of the event saw reigning IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions and Suzuki-Gun members Dangerous Tekkers (Zack Sabre Jr/Taichi) take on former six-time IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions and Bullet Club members Guerillas of Destiny (Tama Tonga/Tanga Loa) [G.O.D.].

Dangerous Tekkers came into the match after a defeat to Los Ingobernables de Japon (LIJ) members Sanada/”The Dragon” Shingo Takagi on November 19th. G.O.D. defeated fellow Bullet Club tandem Evil/Yujiro on the same night.

The match saw G.O.D. manager Jado intervene several times, but Taichi responded with underhanded tricks as well. The match was competitive, highlighting just how far Dangerous Tekkers have come over the past three years as a tag team.

Despite being able to go toe to toe with one of NJPW’s most decorated historical tag teams, Dangerous Tekkers were unable to finish off the match with a victory as Tama Tonga gained the fall over Zack Sabre Jr at the 18 minutes and 51 seconds mark after using the Iron Finger Glove Taichi inherited from retired Suzuki-Gun member Takashi Iizuka.

The win moved G.O.D. to (3-1) [6 points] for their WTL 2020 campaign. While the loss dropped Dangerous Tekkers to (2-2) [4 points], making the path to the finals difficult for the reigning IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions.

G.O.D. would go on to face former IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions and CHAOS members “Stone Pitbull” Tomohiro Ishii/Toru Yano on November 24th while Dangerous Tekkers faced Empire members Jeff Cobb/Great-O-Khan on the same night.

With the victory G.O.D. put themselves in a great position to make the WTL 2020 Finals and claim their first trophy in NJPW.
