The November 18, 2020 Best of the Super Juniors 27 (BOSJ 27) event was in front of 696 (audience limited due to Coronavirus, 2019) fans at the legendary Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan. The crowd was as lively as allowed while the Junior Heavyweights battled in their second matches of the tournament.

The second series match of the night saw “Way to the Grand Master” Master Wato face CHAOS member “Sniper of the Skies” Robbie Eagles. Both Wato and Eagles were coming off victories during their opening match of the campaign.

Eagles being one of the favorites to raise the BOSJ 27 trophies needed a win over the young Master Wato to keep pace with the top of the table. However, Wato has put in work training with his mentor former four-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion Hiroyoshi Tenzan to give him an advantage going into the match.

The two wrestlers put up an even contest as they attempted to gain the advantage over the other throughout the match. Eagles was able to match the kicking power of Wato, allowing him to match Wato while standing up.

Both were also able to take flight at several points during the match, with Wato getting his knees up when Eagles attempted his 450 Splash. That moment would eventually lead to Wato using Tenzan’s Tenzan Tombstone Driver (TTD) to set up his RPP top rope technique to gain the fall at the 12 minutes and 37 seconds mark.

The win for Wato moved him to a perfect 2-0 BOSJ 27 start while Eagles dropped to 1-1. Wato went on to face former two-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion and BOSJ 19 trophy winner Ryusuke Taguchi on November 20th. Eagles would face fellow CHAOS member Sho on the same event.

The loss for Eagles put him in a difficult spot as he would need to defeat Sho to stay on track for a top-two BOSJ 27 finish so he could move on to the finals.
