The November 19, 2020 World Tag League 2020 (WTL 2020) event took place in front of 662 fans (Reduced due to COVID-19). The Korkauen Hall audience in Tokyo, Japan was as lively as New Japan Pro Wrestling’s (NJPW) COVID-19 guidelines allowed them to be.
The fourth series match of the event saw former IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions and CHAOS members one-third of the reigning NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Champions “Stone Pitbull” Tomohiro Ishii and reigning KOPW 2020 (presumably King of Pro Wrestling) titleholder Toru Yano against fellow unit mates two-thirds of the reigning NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Champions Hirooki Goto and Yoshi-Hashi.
Ishii/Yano came into the match with a 1-1 WTL 2020 record [2 points] after losing to the Los Ingobernables de Japon (LIJ) team of Sanada/”The Dragon” Shingo Takagi on November 16th.Goto/Yoshi-Hashi came in with a 1-1 record [2 points] after defeating the Empire team of Jeff Cobb/Great-O-Khan on the same night.
The highly competitive match saw a respectful, but physical battle between the CHAOS teams. Yoshi-Hashi showed his continued growth as he was able to stand toe to toe with renowned brawler Ishii during several points of the match.
Yano continued his mind games and antics, but he wasn’t able to outwit his friends, causing him to have to call on his amateur wrestling skills to gain an advantage over Yoshi-Hashi at a point. Despite the incredible effort, Ishii was able to gain the fall over Yoshi-Hashi at the 15 minutes and 8 seconds mark with his Sheer Drop Brainbuster technique to move his team to a 2-1 record [4 points].
The loss drops Goto/Yoshi-Hashi to 1-2 [2 points], they would go on to face HenarAce on November 22nd. Ishii/Yoshi-Hashi went on to face the Bullet Club team of Evil/Yujiro on the same event as they attempt to make a dark-horse run towards the WTL 2020 Finals.
