Hello and thank you for joining OVW TV 1108 Recap – “Road to the 2020 Nightmare Cup.”
Looks like we’re in for some fun action in this episode, so let’s grab some snacks and settle in.
The episode opened with a ten bell salute to Tracey Smothers 1962- 2020. Smothers passed away last week and he’s going to be missed.
Gustavo and Star Rider ended in No Contest
This should be a good one with Star Rider being relatively new in OVW and a high flyer.
It was a fun match early on as it was a match of one-ups-manship to get us warmed up.
An exciting match ended in No Contest as the LOB (Legacy of Brutality) entered the ring and attacked both competitors.
It was the LOB’s latest attempt to eliminate any competition for the Nightmare Cup because Josh Ashcraft didn’t get what they wanted.
Al Snow came out and told them to stop or they’d be suspended and fined. He even called out Ashcraft for not falling and busting his fact against.
He said he’s going to let the fans vote on who will face the LOB in an 8 man tag match and there’s a lot more coming for Ashcraft.

Early voting leads
Calle Young welcomed it back and tried to point to a green sheet thinking it was a green screen.
They eventually gave up and just switched to the graphic.
The early lead in voting for the 8 man tag team match with the LOB went to Luscious Lawrence, Tony Bizo, and the Tate Twins (Brandon and Brent).
Jesse Bell defeated Reka Tehaka by Submission
Jesse Bell performed as a tribute to her father, Tracey Smothers.
This was another slow burn match that was pretty fun as we got to see an interesting offensive game plan by Reka.
Bell locked in an arm bar for the submission win.
Sinn Bodhi defeated Adam Swayze by Pinfall
Bodhi wasted no time and went right after Swayze and dominated early on with a series of heavy hits.
Bodhi definitely has a couple of interesting attacks like the Funnel Cake and Tickle Knives. Seriously, they need to be seen to be believed.
Bodhi hit a noseslam and a DDT for the pin.
After the match, Bodhi said he wants to play in the Nightmare Cup, but he needs a partner that can survive the circus of like and like to hang out in Clown Town.
Amon came out as Bodhi’s tag team partner. OVW TV 1108 Recap picks them as our favorites to win the Nightmare Cup.
Final election results
We’re back with Calle Young trying to get them to change the backdrop from green to magenta or snakeskin so she could blend in with her patterned blouse.
She changed her mind to it being a city so it’d look like she was flying and she could be a superhero.
She was then handed the final batch of results revealing the Tate Twins, Dustin Jackson, and Ryan Howe will face the LOB later on.
Elimination Tag Team Match – Tate Twins (Brent, Brandon), Dustin Jackson, Ryan Howe defeated Legacy of Brutality (Ca$h Flow, Hy-Zayah, Big Zo, Stve Michaels)(w/Josh Ashcraft) when Dustin Jackson put Ca$h Flow though a table
It started fast when Ca$h Flow and Ryan Howe started it off.
The action was fast early on as everyone got involved before things broke down before Howe tried a sunset flip on Big Zo, but Zo sat down on him for the pin, eliminating him.
Hy-Zayah was disqualified when he spit mist into Brandon Tate’s face.
Brandon Tate was also eliminated as he couldn’t see.
Brent Tate managed to roll Big Zo over in a schoolboy to eliminate him.
During the commercial, Steve Michaels was eliminated by pinfall when Jackson hit a crossbody off the top rope.
Brent Tate ducked a clothesline, and Flow took out the referee, then hit brent with a crossbody and threw Jackson to the floor, injuring Jackson’s knee.
Jackson put Flow through a table after Hy-Zayah misted him by accident and scored the pinfall win.
Al Snow then came out again and told Ashcraft he gets to pick one of the LOB because he and his choice to defend the OVW Tag Team Championship at the Nightmare Cup.
Wonder how Ashcraft and the LOB get out of this one. What did you think of the show? Let us know in the comments, and thank you for joining OVW TV 1108 Recap.
We had a blast and look forward to seeing you all next time.
