This is going to be the fourth match in this rivalry and WW Raw Preview have a couple of possible outlooks for this one.
While Drew McIntyre was an awesome champion and really shouldn’t have lost his title, there wasn’t anyone left on the Raw brand for him to face except Randy Orton.
So their feud made sense. Now, it looks like they’re planning to go back to McIntyre as they went out of their way to push him facing Roman Reigns at Survivor Series.
Aside from breaking their brand separation rules (surprise!) so soon, this looks like an awesome match.
Just one catch: it probably won’t happen.
Orton retains
As a huge Orton fan, I enjoy seeing him as champion, but it’s too little too late. We’ve seen what he brings and while fun it kinda falls flat now.
Still, to WWE Raw Preview, it feels like they’re trying too hard to push the McIntyre-Reigns match, which would make it a huge surprise that Orton would retain.
It’s typical WWE as they’ve often pushed hard for such angle in the past to get fans motivated and hyped up for the match.
Hopefully, they won’t go this route because it just feels wrong given the Fiend is waiting to get revenge on Orton and the championship isn’t needed and there’s Edge returning before too long to consider.
Although, if he loses it’d push McIntyre further toward the heel turn they’ve been teasing and have him join Sheamus.
Of course, it’d be ignoring the fact that McIntyre has been one of the biggest baby face champions in a while.
But then the championships seem to have less meaning now with so many floating around, they’re more like props than something to be relished storyline wise.
McIntyre wins
As we mentioned above, they’re really pushing the idea that McIntyre will win.
He probably will since he shouldn’t have lost or faced Orton three times.
If he does win, then everything’s set and we’ll get a match between two big names at Survivor Series that we expected at WrestleMania when Reigns was expected to face Goldberg for the Universal Championship.
Of course, there’s always the chance of the Fiend interfering and costing McIntyre the match through a no contest. But we think the chances of that are low.
