Colt Cabana is a very important member of Dark Order, and was hand picked by Mr. Brodie Lee, and a friend for over a decade. Now fully involved with this faction, he looks to represent them proudly as he teams with the AEW World Tag Team Champions, Young Bucks. He’s faced them in the past during their time together in Ring Of Honor, notably at Glory By Honor XV when Cabana teamed with Dalton Castle to unsuccessfully challenge Young Bucks for the ROH World Tag Team titles.
Tonight, they face Matt Hardy & Private Party, who are hot off a win over Hangman Page, John Silver & Alex Reynolds. But Dark Order or not, everyone was wearing a Brodie Lee armband. After a sorrowful lead in, it was time to get the energy up, and do what everyone knows best.
Private Party Show New Grit
Colt Cabana started with Isaiah Kassidy, getting an armbar, Kassidy breaking it but getting outsmarted before taking a throat thrust. Marc Quen tagged in, was hit with a drop toehold and Young Bucks helped Cabana keep control. Cabana threw Kassidy into a gutbuster, allowing Matt to hit a neckbreaker, before they all threw a triple dropkick at Hardy. Matt Jackson got the dropkick, Nick Jackson dove over, and Cabana nailed an asai moonsault.
Nick & Quen got back into the ring, and Nick went for a running bulldog, before being run down by a lariat from Hardy. The pace slowed down as Hardy applied a sleeper hold, and cut the ring in half. Matt got a tag as Hardy went for a Black Tiger Bomb, and took a superkick. Young Bucks unleashed some tag team moves, until Hardy tripped Matt up and pulled him outside. He fought off Hardy, got Kassidy with a spear, but Quen got him with a dive. Back in the ring, Quen got a big suplex, and Matt remained isolated.
After being dropped by some double team offense by Private Party, as ‘We Want Colt’ chants began, Matt showed some life. He’d take an elbow drop from Hardy, Matt pushed forth to try and get the tag only to be sent back into the corner. He’d counter a lariat in the corner with a boot, but couldn’t free himself. This was a more vicious Private Party, but a crossbody to Hardy got Matt freedom, only to take a side effect.
Colt Cabana Gets It For Brodie Lee
Hardy showboated in the wrong corner, got a punch from Cabana and almost turned into a superkick. He ducked only to get hit with a Twist Of Fate, and Cabana was tagged in. Cabana took out Private Party with an asai moonsault, gave a flip flop and fly, headscissors, ending with the Flying Apple into a pin. He was going to tag Nick in, but Hardy pulled him off the arpon. Cabana went for the discus lariat, was countered into a crucifix, and Hardy helped Kassidy move into the pinfall, but Cabana got out at two.
Quen dove in with a crossbody, but Cabana stayed in this one. Hardy hit a body slam and went Quen up top, only for Cabana to kick Hardy into him. A superkick from Nick was followed by a hurricanrana, and him tagging in. Cabana was sent over the barricade by Hardy, only for Hardy to take a kick from Nick. A facebuster into the moonsault from Nick showed them reclaiming control, but he’d end up taking Gin & Juice then a Twist of Fate in the ring. A swanton bomb, shooting star press press, but Cabana made it in time to save the pin!
Matt Hardy grabbed a chair, but Quen wanted none of that. This would lead to Nick taking control, tagging in Cabana who cleaned house with Bionic Elbows. Private Party set up Gin & Juice, but Matt got Quen with a superkick. Cabana nailed Chicago Skyline on Kassidy, and The Young Bucks nailed Indietaker, letting Cabana dive in for the pinfall win.
This was a fantastic six man tag to start this night off, and the first of many wins for Dark Order. Will Dark Order remain fan favorites after tonight? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
