It was reported a couple of weeks ago that Doc Gallows was injured in the storyline by Ethan Page to cover for a real injury he sustained, but Impact Wrestling Final Resolution Preview thinks there’s another possibility.
There’s been rumors that Ethan Page could be leaving the promotion as his contract is up at the end of the year, and while it’s hard to imagine him not being in Impact Wrestling, it’s a distinct possibility.
If he does decide to go elsewhere, this is the perfect way to write his character off until he returns as he’s been more and more unhinged the last couple of months since they lost the tag titles.
This was a good way of tying in what’s happening outside the ring to the storyline, and we’re expecting this to be a good match.
If Page defeated Karl Anderson, then he and Josh Alexander (The North) get their rematch for the Impact Tag Team Championship.
We think this match will be the end of The North if Page loses, but it makes sense given the current storyline and how he’s rumored to leave the promotion.
Knockouts Championship – Deonna Purrazzo (c) (w/Kimber Lee) vs. Rosemary (w/Taya Valkyrie)
Purrazzo brought this on herself by ranting and raving to Scott D’Amore about her and Kimber Lee losing to Rosemary and Valkyrie in the tag team tournament.
As D’Amore has done more often lately, he’s set up matches to teach the person a lesson, and in this case Purrazzo isn’t just facing one of her toughest opponents but the Knockouts Championship is on the line.
While it looks like they’re still trying to right the ship after Kylie Rae’s retirement, it’s hard to figure out where they’re going with the championship as they continue moving forward.
In this case, we think Rosemary will win simply for the fact that she and Valkyrie have been dominant and with James Mitchell expecting a payment for his work, it’d make sense for Purrazzo to drop the belt.
This would open the door for Purrazzo and Su Yung’s feud to continue without the belt going back and forth.
It’d also open up other possibilities given Su and Rosemary’s past altercations and Mitchell may use that to his benefit. Plenty of story fodder to be mined either way they go with it.
Impact World Championship – Rich Swann (c) vs. Chris Bey
Chris Bey has been on an interesting path and he’s coming into this match with a losing streak, but he managed to finesse his way into a title match with Rich Swann.
While we love Bey and this will be an awesome match, we think Swann will pull it out at the end.
Swann’s just getting going in his title reign, and we don’t want to see it come to an end yet, but anything could happen.
On of the reasons we expect him to win is Moose has been borderline stalking him and making threats to Bey or anyone else that’s challenged Swann since he won the championship.
This opens the possibility that Moose could also interfere and cause either of them to be disqualified or end the match in no contest.
Given how Moose treated Bey in their tag team match on Impact Wrestling, this feel like a very possible ending to the match.
Moose could also attack after the match if Swann holds onto the championship to begin their feud.
