Impact Wrestling Results returneed as Rich Swann tried to leave, but a security guards stopped him saying the champion has the parking lot blocked off and Swann was offended by it thinking it was Moose.
He was even more upset when Mathews passed him and he was still refused.
In the bus, Mathews took a seat to wait for Don Callis and Kenny Omega, the greeted them when they came out of the back area.
Callis cut Mathews off and said they have a special treat — the ceremonial changing of the nameplate from Jon Moxley to Kenny Omega.
Callis told Mathews to talk to himself while he took care of that.
Mathews pointed out Callis’ actions on AEW Dynamite, and then asked how long was it in the works.
Callis finished the change and showed it off. Omega mentioned how Mathews knew Ambrose from the first Tough Enough season.
Calli said this started when he was trained by the Golden Sheik 27 years ago in Canada, and that the Golden Sheik was Omega’s uncle.
He said that he’s looked after Omega like the Sheik looked after him, and he asked if anyone honesty though he came back to be a color commentator and give up what he was doing?
He said it was all part of the plan for him to go to Impact Wrestling and even when Tony Kahn invited him to call matches in AEW.
He mentioned how he booked Omega vs. Chris Jericho years ago and that match gave birth to AEW.
He added that he changed wrestling history twice, including last week’s action. He said he sees it as setting the course of history right.
Callis said they did it together, and that some people like to make matches and memories, but he and Omega make history.
Mathews asked if that action on Wednesday tarnishes Omega’s legacy.
Omega asked him to repeat the question, and Mathews broke it down step by step and how his match with Jon Moxley played out, but Omega interrupted him to play an interviewer.
Omega asked what would he do if he saw someone strike his father, would he do what he could to get even.
Omega said that when you lay your hands on the architect (Callis) he would do the same.
Omega said everyone needed him to be the champion and he’s had the greatest matches of all time no matter what kind or where.
He added that by his coming to Impact, Mathews should treat him better, and as he got more fired up, he asked why was he there?
Promises made
He said they like to live and travel in style, and when it came to Impact Wrestling, she said he collected comic books as a child but he had to quit.
No matter how much he spent and collected, he could never get the rarest ones, and he now has the most precious one of them all — AEW title.
He said he might add the Impact Championship and others, but he said there’s a big anniucnement to be made tomorrow at AEW Dynamite.
He refused to give more information than being like Lex Lugar with a bus.
Omega then said he’d give us the thing, which involved him saying, “Good night, good bye, BANG!”
As they left, Omega said he likes Mathews and Callis called him a stooge.
This was a fun segment even if there were mainly hints dropped for us to look up and see what they mean.
It’s gong to be fun seeing what’s up tomorrow night on AEW Dynamite. As for tonight, we enjoyed the show.
