Hot off a big win over former NXT Cruiserweight Champion, Jake Atlas just needs to keep the wins coming, and over big names. Tonight, he’s got Isaiah ‘Swerve’ Scott, a man he’s teamed with in the past, and who is back in the mix. Both want to get another match with Santos Escobar, and a win here goes a long way.
No Ring Rust For Swerve
They’d lock up in a hurry, with Swerve taking Atlas down to the mat with a wrist lock. Atlas would get up and use a flip near the ropes to loosen the grip and look for a rollup. Swerve rolled through, dodged a kick and applied a short arm scissors, which Atlas quickly escaped and slipped to the outside.
Atlas would quickly be met by a pump kick from Swerve, and was thrown right back into the ring. Swerve kept the pressure on before nailing a flatliner for a close two count. Atlas was slow back to his feet already, and was dropped instantly with a hard chop, but came back faster with a superkick and a knee to the head as a receipt.
He’d follow up with a big rolling lariat and a suplex into a powerbomb, getting a two count and showing an expanded moveset. Atlas threw some hard mid-kicks, before Swerve rolled him down and nailed The House Call kick.
Jake Atlas Sneaks The Pin
Atlas found himself in another armbar, but managed to counter into a pinfall. Swerve went for his deadlift German Suplex, but Atlas stopped him in his tracks. Staying persistent, Swerve went for another submission but Atlas got another pinfall counter, and held Swerve down for the three count.
Swerve looked slighted by this loss, and refused the handshake of Atlas. This is a more angry Swerve than we’ve ever seen before, all his recent losses starting to pile up, and he’s not a fan. He has the potential to be incredibly dangerous, and his fun loving persona has slowed him down.
Are we in for a new Isaiah ‘Swerve’ Scott in the coming weeks, one who can give the Killshot? Will Atlas keep the wins coming? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
