Isla Dawn is a future star just like Xia Brookside, but neither has been doing well at stringing wins together. They get a few here and there, but fail to get a sustained run in the win department. However, tonight one of them will move along with their winning ways, as these two upstarts face each other one on one. Brookside overcame Nina Samuels recently, while Dawn is coming off a loss to Jinny, but her best showing since NXT UK returned.
Fly With Xia Brookside
They’d lock up hard in the middle of the ring, with Dawn getting the wrist lock but Brookside used her speed to break free. Dawn thought she regained control, but Brookside was flaunting her fundamentals in the ring. She’d keep control with skills that resemble her father, but got cocky and Dawn got the wrist back and drove her knee right into Brookside’s face.
Once the wrist lock was released, Brookside went for a dropkick, but the kickboxer Dawn came back with a running knee and mid kick. Dawn applied a tight rear chinlock, and was clearly frustrated in this one, and used that to beat Brookside down. Hard knees to a downed Brookside and a snap suplex with a bridge would test her, before Dawn moved into a Fujiwara Armbar.
Isla Dawn Takes Advantage
Brookside fought back with a jawbreaker and got a crisp hurricane, hitting the ropes and hitting the headscissor takedown. Dawn went to the corner and took the Broken Wings double knee strike. Brookside followed Dawn who went outside with a baseball slide, but someone was setting up… luggage?
Both competitors got back in the ring before the referee reached ten on his count, staying focused. Brookside hit a big dropkick, before Nina Samuels appeared on the screen. She’d remind Brookside that she’s only good enough to carry her bags, distracting her for long enough. Dawn nailed a kick to the head and the backdrop driver for the win.
Will Xia Brookside get revenge for this distraction by Nina Samuels? Do they teach not getting distracted in NXT UK, or is that just something Timothy Thatcher teaches? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
