Last week, Miro confronted Chuck Taylor backstage to mock the injury of Trent. In order to shut Miro up, Taylor agreed to face him one on one. To make things even more interesting in this first time singles match, should Taylor lose? He becomes Miro’s young boy until the wedding of Kip Sabian.
Has Taylor made the worst mistake of his career out of anger over Miro injuring Trent? Miro is still undefeated in AEW, ending 2020 with a 4-0 record in singles. Taylor has wins in 5 of his last 7 matches, but those are mostly tag team affairs. He’s yet to have a big singles showing in AEW, but this could be it. Taylor is a former PWG Champion who’s competed in NJPW & ROH as well. He’s no slouch, but he’s not The Best Man.
Chuck Taylor Couldn’t Stop Miro, Despite His Best Efforts
Miro would turn his back on Chuck Taylor as this match began, which was a big mistake. Taylor struck fast and struck hard, sending him over the top rope with a lariat and then just throwing him right into the wall. Miro wanted more time on the outside, and Taylor just came over the top with a dive, crashing onto Miro. More whips into the barricade, and Miro would rush at Taylor, hitting the ring post head first.
A diving foot stomp off the apron would crush Miro, who finally went back into the ring. At ringside, Kip Sabian attacked Orange Cassidy, taking Taylors attention away as Sabian got a Mule Kick to the face. Miro ran into a knee strike, but was able to finally get some offense with a big Samoan Drop.
Once Miro gets moving, he’s hard to stop. He’d crush Taylor in the corner and throw him across the ring. A big leg lariat dropped Taylor, before Miro hit the big thrust kick. The Game Over would be signalled and Taylor had no choice but to tap out. Now, Chuck Taylor is the butler of Miro for the next month. This could get interesting.
What kind of hell will Taylor go through on the road to February 4th? Can Orange Cassidy help free his friend? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
