There was a massive night of boxing action this past weekend, as one of the hottest properties in American sport stepped into the ring to take on Luke Campbell. It was expected to be the biggest test of his career, as he came up against a former Olympic gold medallist.

However, Garcia showed the world that he could produce a dazzling performance when he needed it most, as he picked himself up off the flow to claim a landmark win in his professional career. But, he already has set his sights on his next potential opponent.

Boxing News: Garcia Picks Himself Up To Get The Win

It ended up being a commanding performance by the American, but it didn’t start off in that fashion. Campbell travelled to Texas from the United Kingdom for the fight, and stunned his opponent early on with a shot that left Garcia rocking. However, the American was able to get back to his feet after the second round knockdown to reassert his control in the contest.

The fight came to an end after Garcia landed a brutal body shot on the former world champion contender, and Campbell was unable to get back on his feet. The left hook from Garcia sucked the wind out of his British opponent, and there will now be huge excitement about what could come next for the talented American 22-year-old. There is certainly little doubt that he is destined for greatness after this display.

Boxing News: Immediately Calls Out Tank

There will now be questions about Garcia’s next fight. The win over Campbell means that he is now the mandatory challenger for the title held by Devin Haney, but that doesn’t appear to be a route that the 22-year-old wants to take. Instead, immediately after the success he called out Gervonta Davis. Davis is a money fight waiting to happen in the States, as he is mentored by legendary multi-weight champion Floyd Mayweather.

Some fans would have been hoping that Garcia would be utilising his mandatory tag with a world title fight this year, but a fight against Mayweather’s goldenboy appears to be too great to turn down for Garcia. A fight with Tank would give Garcia the perfect opportunity to showcase his skills in front of one of the best ever, who he has already been compared to.
