The Royal Rumble is fast approaching, which means rumours surrounding the superstars that could return for the event are heating up. The event is known for creating moments, with superstars making huge returns during the 30-man match, and this year promises to be no different. There will be no fans in attendance for the event this year, but it isn’t likely that the WWE will be holding back on surprises because of that.
WWE News: Brock Lesnar
It is coming up to a year since we last saw Brock Lesnar, but he is one of the favourites in the betting for the upcoming Royal Rumble. Fans will be pleased to see the Beast make his big return, but there will be less enthusiasm about him winning the big match. Especially considering that Daniel Bryan, Keith Lee and Big E are the current favourites.
Lesnar started the Rumble match last year, and lasted for half an hour before being eliminated by Drew McIntyre. He soon lost his WWE Championship at Mania to McIntyre, and Lesnar’s entry to this match could indicate that the Beast is setting his sights on righting that wrong.
WWE News: The Rock
There have constantly been rumours that The Rock is set to return to the WWE this year to challenge Roman Reigns at WrestleMania. While the match is undoubtedly something that fans would love to see, it is hugely unlikely that the match will happen in front of a virtual audience.
It is surprising to see The Rock have such short odds to win the Rumble this year, as his odds are lower than superstars such as AJ Styles, Kevin Owens and Bray Wyatt. This looks to be one of the most unlikely returns during this year’s event.
WWE News: CM Punk
Every time that the Royal Rumble comes around there is talk that CM Punk could return. Once again he is among the shorter priced returning stars, and is seen as an 18/1 chance to win the match itself. The odds are pretty big, but they are still smaller than the odds of Braun Strowman winning.
Every WWE fan would love to see Punk return to the WWE for a final run, but with every passing year it is looking more and more unlikely. We wouldn’t even believe there is a glimmer of a chance that Punk will return this year.
