WWE Raw Preview thinks this match has plenty of possibilities, but it’ll likely fall short as it’ll end in a disqualification or no contest.
As much as is pains us to say this, the WWE is afraid to have Keith Lee lose clean.
It’s been reported that Vince McMahon doesn’t fully get or like Lee, but we have trouble believing that as Lee continually gets into the limelight the last couple of months.
There’s plenty of arguments for that, and it’s apparent they’re building him like an Andre the Giant type of wrestler where he never loses cleanly, and that’s supposed to raise his value in fans’ eyes.
The truth it, Lee’s been a fan favorite for a while but the luster seems to be wearing off as he only gets the occasional push to further another storyline.
When his loses come in gimmick matches where someone else is pinned or by DQ, it screams that WWE Creative is stuck in neutral with him.
Lee should lose clean
While McIntyre and Lee may resemble a poor mans Hulk Hogan and Andre the Giant, there’s no kidding ourselves that it won’t ever be the case.
WWE’s booking has been so rough on Raw that it’s easy to see why their ratings have been going down. They’re super predictable and fans are tuning out during a pandemic, which speaks volumes.
Lee should’ve lost cleanly and by pinfall by now, and tonight he definitely should after a protracted fight.
It’d further establish McIntyre as a dominant champion and go a long way in setting up McIntyre and Sheamus for the Royal Rumble.
After Lee’s brutal war with Sheamus last week, it’d make Sheamus the definite underdog (not that losing every week hasn’t already done that) but it’ll help make him look stronger after Lee barely wo last week.
But that would make sense, and the WWE loves their gimmicks, 50/50 booking, and questionable endings, and this will be no different.
This match with end with either a disqualification or no contest when someone, probably the Miz and John Morrison try to cash in the MITB contract.
They won’t succeed in cashing it in and we’ll be stuck with this storyline for another week at least, but it’ll be an excuse for Sheamus to come out to “help” McIntyre and he’ll turn on him instead.
Of course, they could save Sheamus turning for when McIntyre is with some legends like Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, and others.
Although, WWE Raw Preview thinks it’s worth pointing out Sheamus doesn’t have to turn on McIntyre to get a match. They’re friends that love to fight and McIntyre would probably give him a shot.
Just saying. Who do you think will win? Let us know in the comments below.
