The Young Bucks have a date with The Inner Circle at AEW Revolution, but it’s one that they might not make. Chris Jericho & MJF might have won the Number One Contenders Battle Royal, but Santana & Ortiz were the first to eliminate one half of the Young Bucks.
This has led to The Young Bucks challenging Santana & Ortiz, and making this a title match. Santana & Ortiz have been wanting to be recognized as the official team of The Inner Circle, and beating MJF & Jericho to the punch would do exactly that.
Santana & Ortiz Don’t Need All Of Inner Circle At Ringside
Nick got started with Santana, and cartwheeled out of an arm lock before taking a shoulder tackle. Santana would outpower Nick and made the tag to Ortiz, who missed a tag to Matt who hit some hip tosses. Ortiz got a big arm drag, a backbreaker, before Matt got an arm drag and dropkick before Santana tagged in.
Santana was hit with a double back elbow and fist drop, and Ortiz with the double dropkick. Ortiz would get help from Santana to set up a Magic Killer, but instead flip Nick into a hard backbreaker. MJF tried to get involved, and all of The Inner Circle was kicked out from ringside.
While Rick Knox was kicking them out, Nick was choked in the corner, and hit with the Three Amigos soon after by Santana. Nick was fully isolated, and it was looking like the challengers match to lose. Ortiz applied the Gory Special, but couldn’t get the verbal submission.
Matt was desperate for a tag, and after Nick would rock Ortiz with a superkick, he got it. Santana got a tag as well, but Matt was ready to be the one man wrecking crew, somehow handling both men until Ortiz kicked him in the head. Ortiz was sent to the outside however, and Matt hit the twisting stunner on Santana for the two count.
The Young Bucks Steal The Pin
Young Bucks hit a combo powerbomb, but Santana was able to counter More Bang For Your Buck. Ortiz took Nick out, and Santana hit the top rope Falcon Arrow for a near fall. A twisting cutter into Koji Clutch had Nick Jackson trapped in the ring, and even a pinfall attempt didn’t have Santana break it.
Matt hit the elbow drop to free his brother, and saved him from a double superplex before hitting Doomsday Device. Buckle Bomb and double superkick would be followed by BTE Trigger, but Santana had it scouted! Ortiz tagged in and launched Santana into the Double Cutter, before they set up Street Sweeper on Nick, but Matt got the last minute save!
Matt was powerbombed into the crowd, and they’d go to work on Nick in the ring, who quickly rolled up Ortiz for the three count! Inner Circle would maul The Young Bucks. Omega & Good Brothers just watched on, and didn’t. Brandon Cutler tried, but Hager took him out. After Jericho & MJF did their damage, Good Brother finally got to the ring.
