Jon Moxley has warned fans that his upcoming bout with Kenny Omega in Revolution will be a bloody affair. So much so that he has advised the spectators that it is not for the faint-hearted.
Jon Moxley Warns Fans His Upcoming Bout With Kenny Omega Will Be ‘Violent’
During an interview with Inside The Ropes, he said: “I’d say you probably shouldn’t watch the pay-per-view then, or at least turn it off before that match happens. It’s the good thing about AEW, we’ve got a little something for everybody, but there’s really no way to sugarcoat an Exploding Barbed Wire Death Match, you know, so if you don’t want to see it, then don’t watch.
“If you think your kid is going to be a little bit too young to watch it, a little bit too violent for them, don’t watch it.” This is such a strong statement, but it should not come as a surprise. Jon is known for his hard-hitting, full-throttle style, and in fact, he has lamented the lack of it. He stressed that the wrestling scene promises violence but produces very little.
He added: “Things, over the last decade or so, have just got so… No matter what you advertise, you can put whatever you want on a poster and make it seem like you’re going to see something super-violent or whatever.
“But at the end of the day, these extreme kind of matches have been watered down, and they’re just safe and, you know, the same old, same old and we look like we’re playing f***ing Pattycake, and I think we’re going to bring back a real element of actual unpredictability and actual danger.”
And his compatriot, Kenny, is also up for the match. He previously explained how Jon is motivating him to bring his best. Jon’s competitive nature has been very appealing. He said: “That’s absolutely correct. Before we went into this thing with Jon Moxley, you want to bring out the best not only in your opponent but yourself.”
This matchup promises to be a classic given that it is so evenly poised with not much separating the two competitors. But whether it lives up to the hype is another matter. Only time will tell. Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
