The WWE schedule is relentless at the minute, and all the plans will swiftly change for the upcoming Fastlane PPV, which takes place less than a month after the recent Elimination Chamber event.
The Chamber event took place this past weekend, but plans for WrestleMania this year are quickly taking shape. But, with Fastlane taking place before Mania, could we see some matches for the event announced this evening on SmackDown?
WWE News: Huge Tag Team Match Announced
The return of Christian at the Royal Rumble was one of the biggest shocks of the night, but we could be set to see more of the world champion over the coming weeks as we get closer to the biggest show of the year. The main reason for that will be down to the fact that his best friend will be challenging Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship at the biggest show of the year.
Reigns has more than enough help in his corner, which could lead to himself and Jey Uso ganging up on Edge as they set up their Mania match, but that could bring back Christian to aide his friend. It has already been reported that a tag match could be made involving the former champions taking on Reigns and Uso, and that could take place at Fastlane.
WWE News: Big E vs Apollo Crews
The heel turn of Apollo Crews has been something that has needed to happen for a number of years, but now it finally has, we are finally seeing the most interesting version of the superstar. Crews has had his eyes firmly set on Big E and the Intercontinental Championship for the past couple of weeks, and despite coming up short on previous occasions, there is still an impression that we are heading towards a huge PPV match between the two of them further down the line.
It is unlikely that their feud will have the legs to run until Mania, which means that Fastlane could be the perfect opportunity to bring an end to it. A match between the two superstars could be announced this evening, as their rivalry continues to heat up with Crews once again attacking Big E on the Friday night show. It’s likely that Big E will get the win at the PPV, but that doesn’t mean that Crews is set to be forgotten about, as the WWE could have big plans for him this year.
