NXT UK already had one final boss of professional wrestling in WALTER, so why the hell not bring in another one for the women’s division! Meiko Satomaru is an absolute legend in her home country of Japan, and WWE fans should remember her from the second Mae Young Classic. She has now signed to NXT UK, and will start things off with a challenge in Isla Dawn. While Dawn doesn’t have the best win/loss record, she’s proven to be a hard hitting striker due to her kickboxing background, a perfect debut opponent for someone like Satomura.
Meiko Satomura Wants To Take Out Isla Dawn
Being described as The Best In The World is something that comes cheap for someone like Satomura, with her being one of the most idolized figures in Japanese Wrestling. Dawn started with a kick to the leg, and Satomura came back twice as hard before locking up and sending her to the ropes. A spin kick to the chest took Dawn’s breath away, before Satomura took her down with a headlock takeover.
Dawn was taken to the mat, but Satomura let her go for some shots, as we see NXT UK Women’s Champion Kay Lee Ray looking on. Satomura would take a snapmare and kick from Dawn, before being rocked with a running wheel kick, sending Dawn down.
Isla Dawn Is No Pushover
Dawn had her wrist snatched, and her arm kicked. The pressure was kept on, as Satomura looked for a suplex. Dawn was able to counter into a Fishermans Suplex of her own, getting a near fall before hitting a jumping knee strike for another near fall! Satomura cut Dawn off at the top rope, before taking her down with a big superplex. A swift kick to the jaw put Dawn down for two, and she came back with a high angle backdrop driver for a near fall.
Some more spinning heel kicks from Satomura was followed by a DDT and the cartwheel kick. Scorpio Rising would nail flush on the back of Dawn’s head, and this one was over. The first of many wins on NXT UK from Meiko Satomura, and even Kay Lee Ray gave a round of applause to this one.
