While it seemed like Braun Strowman vs. Drew McIntyre was a sure thing for Wrestlemania or even Fastlane matches, but life had other plans. The Monster Among Men is down and out for what could be months with a nasty blood infection, which took him off TV.
Braun Strowman Has Lost 15 Pounds In Five Days
In an update from the man himself on Instagram, Strowman would state the following.
“Little update, I’ve been off air for a bit. I got really sick over the weekend, I got an infection that got into my blood system. Had to be put on antibiotics for that. It was awful, I’ve dropped like 15 pounds in 5 days, couldn’t eat and stuff like that. Yet it looks likeI’ve gained 50 pounds of water weight, all my joints are swollen and inflamed. But the antibiotics are working, and I’m feeling better. We’re gonna nib this thing in the butt and get back to training, put that mass back on, I’ll be back and seeing you guys real soon.”
This is why he vanished from TV following a great performance in Royal Rumble, where he made the final four. It’s good that he’s feeling better, but we can’t expect him back for at least a month or so. Wrestlemania could be possible, but we might not see him back until after that event.
Strowman vs. McIntyre Will Still Likely Happen Down The Line
Right now on Monday Night RAW, Drew McIntyre has all but run out of opponents, with the only big singles match left for him being Strowman. This makes it likely that we will see this huge match down the line. It would have been excellent at Wrestlemania, and hopefully Strowman is back on his feet in time for WWE to have it at that event.
WWE has a few options, such as a singles match with Sheamus, or even a rematch with Bobby Lashley after their excellent Backlash 2020 match. AJ Styles is always a steady contender, and The Miz is lurking with Money in The Bank like always. Who can you see facing McIntyre at Wrestlemania with Strowman potentially out as an option?
