This is the match Impact Wrestling Preview has been waiting all week for as not only will James Storm and Eric Young have a great match, but it’s a celebration as it’s Storm’s 1000th TNA/Impact match.
Professional wrestling may be scripted and the outcomes predetermined, but it’s still a very physically demanding job and wrestlers put their lives and careers on the line with every hold to entertain us.
Because of that we love when milestones like this happen as it also shows a wrestler’s ability to stay with a promotion long enough to have 1000 matches.
Storm is also the first to reach this milestone despite wrestling elsewhere, and that’s a cool feather in his cap.
It’s a cool way for the promotion to honor one of their original competitors, and the fact Storm’s face Eric Young makes it even more special.
They came into TNA together and Young was Storm’s first opponent and it just brings things full circle.

Excellent build up
While the cool thing to do lately is to just throw two people together in a dream match because reasons, Impact Wrestling spent the last couple of months building Young’s faction up and working on this feud.
While Young and Storm’s feud really got started a few weeks back when Storm and Chris Sabin took exception to Young’s treatment of Deaner, it fits in too well not to think it wasn’t a long term plan.
This will mark another step in their feud and we expect VBD to become involved if Young’s in trouble, but Storm will fight them off with Sabin and possibly Jake Something’s help.
We expect Jake to make an impact here since he has a new theme that was released on social media and that generally means something big will happen.
To that end, we think Storm should defeat Young for his 1000th match and give VBD a black eye to heighten their feud. VBD can attack afterwards to gain more heat while Storm has his moment.
In Impact Wrestling Preview’s opinion, it’s really the only way to go with this one, otherwise the buildup will feel more like a cheat than not.
Still, we’ll find it hard to complain if Storm losses after a great match and it’s a clean win, but there’s rarely anything clean when VDB is involved.
So we expect there to be some interference to cost Storm the win and get VBD even more heat, not that they need any at the moment.
There are a couple of ways this can go and Impact Wrestling Preview has found that Impact tend to have the better storytelling and concepts than other big companies lately but things happen.
Who do you think will win and how big a role with VBD play in it? Let us know in the comments below and join Impact Wrestling Live Results later tonight for full coverage.
