Impact Wrestling Preview is all set for another episode of BTI (Before the Impact) leading into IMPACT! tonight, and it looks like we have another fun match this week to get us warmed up.
With this being the Go Home episode for Sacrifice this Saturday, we love how it’s building on the X-Division Championship match between TJP and Ace Austin.
Last week, Austin won a number one contender match thanks to some help from Madman Fulton, so while Austin will be facing Chris Bey, TJP will start things off against Fulton.
This match as so many possibilities with the different styles as we’ve grown accustomed to seeing TJP wrestle the smaller wrestlers instead of the monsters, and that’s going to pose a unique challenge.
He’ll have to relay on his speed and joint manipulation to wear down Fulton, but it’s been awhile since Fulton’s been released and with the opportunity to hinder TJP for his upcoming match, things could get interesting.
Fulton’s size and power is only matched by a couple of wrestlers on Impact Wrestling’s roster, and he’s as agile as most so he’ll be able to match TJP in bursts.
What’s going to make the difference for both of them is if he can protect his extremities from TJP’s multitude of holds and still use his power to grind down TJP.
This is a tough one to call, but we don’t see TJP lose heading into the pay-per-view, though a brutalized and beaten TJP would make for a fun hero’s story type of comeback against Austin.
Who’s your pick to win?
Ace Austin vs. Chris Bey
This is going to be an awesome match and possibly the match of the night, and we love the buildup to this as it sets up a possible feud for after Sacrifice.
Ace Austin and Chris Bey are two of the top talents in the world and it’s always fun to watch them in action both in the ring and on the mic.
Tonight could be the start of one of the best rivalries of the year, especially with Austin facing TJP at Sacrifice on Saturday for the X-Division Championship.
Even if Austin doesn’t win, we expect him and Bey to continue going back and forth like we saw a little last week when Bey accused Austin of needing Madman Fulton to win his match.
Bey wasn’t wrong as Fulton did play a part in Austin winning, and this match is supposed to be their resolution of that argument.
While it may be the resolution is Austin wins, we expect a loss to stick with Bey and it’ll help fuel him to keep after Austin and push himself higher up the totem pole.
