At Wrestlemania 37, Roman Reigns has a date with a WWE Hall of Famer in Edge. Edge is the winner of the 2021 Royal Rumble, and they’ve been building this up as a huge match. However, Reigns needs to get through Daniel Bryan this weekend at Fastlane first.
While Edge vs. Roman Reigns is a big match however, WWE perhaps had a bigger play in their back pocket. According to Roman Reigns current manager, Paul Heyman? There have been many who have reached out about facing Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania… and one of them is The Rock.
Paul Heyman Is Hyping Up Roman Reigns
Speaking with GiveMeSport.com, Paul Heyman would have the following to say.
“If I could show you one day’s worth of text messages, emails and calls that come into my phone from some of the biggest superstars in sports and entertainment on this planet, it would blow your mind. Crossover celebrities in their prime would love to step into a WrestleMania ring with Roman Reigns. It’s not just Dwayne Johnson. The Rock is just one of many. “
This is likely just some storyline boasting from Heyman, but it certainly works to make Roman Reigns feel like a big deal at the moment. Fans are more interested in Reigns than ever before, and just about any opponent put in front of him at Wrestlemania would be a money match. You could even drag Youtuber Jake Paul into the ring, and Reigns would make this a special occasion.
The Rock Has One More Epic Match In Him
While we won’t be seeing Roman Reigns vs. The Rock this year, this is a match that WWE has perfectly set up, and one that they won’t want to waste. The Rock & Roman Reigns are cousins outside of the ring, with The Rock even getting Reigns an acting role in Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw. WWE has tried to use The Rock to lift Reigns up in the past, to little success.
However, now with Reigns calling himself the head of the table in both the wrestling world, and of the anoa’i family. The Rock is his blood brother, and would reside at the same table, while easily being a bigger name and star than Reigns. He could easily claim that anything Reigns has done, he’s done first, and back it up with fact. It has a chance to be a great feud, and would allow The Rock to go out with a big final match, instead of squashing Erik Rowan in 7 seconds.
