While Cesaro & Shinsuke Nakamura aren’t a steady tag team anymore, they still have each other’s backs. So when Cesaro was attacked from behind by Seth Rollins and Murphy on the build to Fastlane, Nakamura wasn’t going to sit idly by. The King Of Strong Style nailed Rollins with a brutal Kinshasa, and set up this grudge match. They’ve met in two other singles matches, at Survivor Series 2018 and a quick two minute encounter on Smackdown in 2019.
Shinsuke Nakamura Brings The Knee Strikes Aplenty
Nakamura started up fast with a knee strike to the stomach, before a jumping knee drop on the mat. Rollins fought back and threw Nakamura out of the ring, and hit the jumping knee off the apron, getting Nakamura in the side of the head. Nakamura would have his face slammed off the apron, before being taken back into the ring and hit with a gutbuster.
Rollins would keep the pressure on the back and midsection of Nakamura with a backbreaker and waist lock. Nakamura would break free, before being choked on the middle rope while he yelled that Cesaro is watching. He remembers the 22 swings, but Rollins is strong too.
Rollins tried for the swing on Nakamura, and ended up in an armbar. He’d get the ropes, before being set up on the apron for a jumping knee drop. Back in the ring, Nakamura set Rollins up on the top rope and hit a knee strike there. Nakamura would look for the reverse exploder and was fought off. He’d go up top, and be sent to the outside for a dive.
Seth Rollins Steps It Up
Rollins hit a diving knee and a slingblade, getting a two count. A falcon arrow was set up, but Nakamura fought free with some strikes before taking an enziguri. Rollins was hit with a spin kick and set up for the sliding German Suplex.
Nakamura went for Kinshasa, but Rollins countered into a Buckle Bomb and followed up with a Falcon Arrow for a two count. Rollins was planted with the Landslide, before Nakamura hit the reverse exploder. Kinshasa was set up again, but Rollins countered out. He’d hit a Black Magic style kick after the Curb Stomp was dodged, before nailing it for the win.
