Bobby Lashley will finally get his opportunity to become the WWE Champion on Raw tonight, as he takes on The Miz in the main event of the show. Lashley is yet to win the world title across his two stays with the WWE.
But tonight could be the time that he finally realizes his potential and wins the biggest prize of them all. But, could there be anything standing in Lashley’s way or will he cruise to a huge win to rubberstamp his route to the main event of WrestleMania this year?
WWE News: Lashley Wins Clean
There are potentially two different outcomes that we could see on Raw tonight. The first of which would see Lashley win clean against The Miz in a dominant performance. Given how the CEO of the Hurt Business has been booked recently, this could be the ending that makes the most sense, but it would likely hurt The Miz considerably. The A-Lister only won the title less than a week ago at the Elimination Chamber PPV, and while many expect him to drop the title before Mania, it would seem a little extreme for him to hand over the title in just eight days.
The Miz does deserve slightly better than that given that he has given so much to the company throughout his career. But, this is Lashley’s time now, and a clean win in the manner that he beat Braun Strowman last week could be the best way forward to start a long build for the scheduled match at Mania this year for the WWE Championship.
WWE News: Screwy Finish Leads To Re-Match
As is often the case with a title match on Raw, there are doubts whether there will be a clean finish altogether. There are so many ways that this match could end in a DQ. John Morrison will likely be ringside and could cost The Miz the match, but ensure that he remains the title holder. Members of the Hurt Business could also get involved in the title match to lead to a DQ finish.
However, more likely, we could see Drew McIntyre return and look to get revenge again the man that cost him his championship, and the new title holder. A screwy finish could ultimately lead to a re-arranged title match between Lashley and The Miz, and that could come at Fastlane, with the winner then taking on McIntyre at this year’s Mania.
