Royce challenged Asuka, and WWE Raw Results are really curious if this is a legitimate push or a tease.
They locked up and went back and for as they jockeyed for position, and exchanged headlocks and reversals before she shoved Asuka into a corner and Asuka flipped over her.
Asuka then hit a shoulder block off the ropes and followed it by rolling out of a sunset flip attempt by Royce and then going for a kick.
Royce caught her foot and went for a leg lock but Asuka made it to the rope. Royce dragged her down with an armbar, and Asuka reverse it into her own armbar.
Royce reversed the hold and slapped on a bridging chin lock that Asuka kicked out of.
Royce then ducked a charge by Asuka into the corner and Asuka hit the turnbuckle. Royce then hit a series of elbows to the back of Asuka’s neck and hit a suplex for a near pinfall.
Royce taunted Asuka and Asuka threw her into a corner and ran into a boot.
In a cool move, Royce slipped onto the apron, then back into the ring to avoid Asuka.
Asuka flipped her onto the apron and hit a back fist but missed with a hit attack. Royce kicked her in the back and slammed her to the apron and floor as we headed to commercial.
Asuka finds a way
Back from commercial, they’re back in the ring and both were down as the referee counted. They pulled themselves to their feet and Asuka hit a dropkick.
Asuka then hit a kick and a hip attack in the corner.
Royce fought off one German suplex, but not Asuka’s second attempt.
Asuka then his a knee to the face for a near pinfall.
Asuka headed to the top rope, but Royce sidestepped her missile dropkick, then fought out of another German Suplex.
Royce hit a backpack drop type of hold for a near pinfall.
Frustrated, Royce grabbed Asuka, and Asuka went for an Asuka Lock but Royce reversed it tin a rollup pin for a near pinfall.
Asuka hit the facebuster for a near pinfall, and she then put Royce on the top turnbuckle and followed her up.
Royce fought her off and hit a double stomp for a pin attempt.
Royce kicked the ropes and shouted at the referee before walking into a kick to the midsection and an armbar Asuka changed to the Asuka Lock for the win.
This was a great match and about time we got to see Royce do something. Now if they can figure out what to do with Billie Kay.
As Asuka celebrated, Rhea Ripley made her debut and came out and headed to the ring.
The Nightmare is here
Ripley greeted her and said Asuka is one of the greatest champions in WWE history. She said Charlotte Flair challenged her while she was recovering from having her teeth knocked out, but Flair’s not there.
She said Flair is recovering from Covid, so she demanded an answer to her challenge on her first night on Raw. The challenge? A championship match at WrestleMania.
Asuka told her she’s not ready for Asuka but she accepted anyway.
McIntyre’s stipulation
Backstage, Adam Pearce approached McIntyre and asked why he helped Sheamus after beating each other senseless last night.
McIntyre said he wasn’t going to sit back and watch it, and asked Pearce what he wanted.
Pearce said Benjamin and Alexander challenged him to a handicap match. WWE Raw Results aren’t surprised by this.
McIntyre asked for a stipulation and if he wins they’re banned from ringside at WrestleMania and Pearce told him to consider it done.
