Hello and welcome to WWE Smackdown Live Results!
I’m your host, CP Bialois, and this should be an interesting episode as we’ll see more matches and storylines solidify for next week’s WWE Fastlane pay-per-view.
With plenty of action expected, we’re going to grab some snacks and settle in for the 8 p.m. EST showtime.
Segment 1
Edge came out to start the show for to continue with a change of pace to open things.
Edge called out Reigns and Bryan for mentioning him, especially Bryan for going into business for himself.
Bryan came out and explained himself and Edge told him he doesn’t like what he did and said Bryan’s better than that, but he’s not better than Edge.
Anyone else notice Edge has turned whiney lately?
Segment 2
Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford), Dominik and Rey Mysterio vs. Dirty Dawgs (Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode) and the Alpha Academy (Chad Gable and Otis)
This started wild and crazy as everyone was quicker than a hiccup.
Dawkins and Ford had Ziggler ready for a frog splash, but Gable distracted the ref while Roode shoved Ford off the top rope and to the floor as we headed to commercial.
Segment 3
An exciting match and probably match of the night ended with Ford hitting Roode with a From the Heavens for the win.
Segment 4
Seth Rollins said he was done with Cesaro and called him a waste until he found out Cesaro had a rematch tonight.
Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler took Reginald shopping, and Baszler looked bored and napped while Jax and Reginald enjoyed themselves.
Segment 5
Cesaro vs. Murphy was mostly dominated by Cesaro before Rollins hit Cesaro from behind and followed a beatdown with a couple of Stomps.
Officials stopped Rollins when he tried to Stomp him with a chair around his head, and then Rollins had a stare down backstage with Shinsuke Nakamura.
Murphy disappeared, so him being there and the match didn’t make mush sense, but okay.
Segment 6
KO Show featuring Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks
Banks and Belair quickly got into a back and forth on who was better, which shows they’re far from being on the same page.
Segment 7
Natalya and Tamina vs. Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair
This was a mess as the majority of the focus was on Jax, Baszler, and Reginald at ringside, and Reginald helped distract the referee.
Tamina took advantage and rolled up Belair for the win.
Segment 8
Big E issued an open challenge for the Intercontinental Championship after Apollo Crews didn’t respond to his direct challenge, King Corbin and Sami Zayn came out.
Segment 9
Intercontinental Championship – Big E (c) vs. Sami Zayn
This was a solid match that had some good back and forths early on before Big E missed a splash on the ring apron as we headed to commercial
Segment 10
Zayn was close, but Big E hit the Big Ending to win it.
Crews then attacked Big E from behind and after two Olympic Slams he knocked Big E out of the ring with the ring steps.
Segment 11
Reigns refused to sign the contract until Bryan mocked him for being scared since he made Jey Uso give up last week and Reigns could never do that.
Jey then demanded he be named special enforcer for the match and Edge came out and challenged Jey to a match next week where the winner is the special enforcer.
Adam Pearce accepted and made the match, and then the four men brawled in the ring.
Bryan threw Jey to the floor and Edge sent Reigns out of the ring. Bryan then hit a running knee on Edge to close the show.
This was a pretty good show and we enjoyed the overall flow and it looks like we have a couple of fun matches next week already set.
