WWE Smackdown Preview is all set for an interesting night as Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns hold their contract signing for the WWE Championship at Fastlane on March 21.
Bryan has followed the path blazed by Kevin Owens by having Reigns use the rules to gain advantage in a title match, fight through Jey Uso to get a rematch, and now a contract signing.
Reigns was clam during his last couple of contract signings, and since the WWE loves these moments to hype his matches we expect much of the same.
Reigns will remain stoic throughout as he and Bryan exchange pleasantries before leaving the ring. If something does happen, it will be Jey Uso of Bryan that start it as that’s not Reigns at the moment.
If nothing else, this will be a fun promo between the two with the real action coming next week in the pay-per-view’s Go Home episode.
The KO Show with Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks
Speaking of promo opportunities, Owens will interview Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair as the tandem prepare to challenge Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax for the Women’s Tag Team Championship at Fastlane.
Owens has been more of a bringing people together kind of guy since his face turn and we expect him to try to do a legitimate interview, but Baszler and Jax will come out pretty quick to interrupt things.
A brawl will ensue with Belair and Banks holding the ring in a repeat of most of their confrontations.
It may lead to a pair of singles matches between the four participants, or just one pair this week and the others in a singles match next week on the Go Home episode.
Of course, this would be a great opportunity for Owens to turn heel and try to drive a wedge between the new duo, but Smackdown has a bevy of heels and that feels unrealistic. But you never know.
Big E returns
Three weeks ago, Big E suffered a brachial plexus injury when Apollo Crews threw the ring steps over the top rope and onto him on the floor.
Since then, Crews has followed Roman Reigns’ lead by going back to his roots and becoming reborn in the legacy of his family.
The new more aggressive Crews demanded yet another Intercontinental Championship match, making a persona change mandatory or risk having their feud become stale.
This new change in him should prove interesting if he follows through with a new aggressiveness he’s shown glimpses of in his last encounter with Big E.
Of course, Big E has stated Crews is beneath him and has tried to move on, and he’ll give an impassioned speech about having to set aside his positivity so he can unleash on Crews and put him back in his place.
Big E’s been a good Intercontinental Champion and his mic skills are second to none, and WWE Smackdown Preview expects this to be the best promo/exchange of the night.
He and Crews are too good to expect anything less, and it’ll inject a new energy into their feud with one week to go before Fastlane.
We may even see the two get into an altercation tonight, or at least Big E with Crews’ elite guards. It should be a fun moment so we’re bringing some popcorn to sit back and enjoy it.
