Conor McGregor is coming in hot on Kamaru Usman after the latter’s outstanding performance at UFC 261: Usman VS Masvidal 2. The UFC Welterweight champion knocked out Jorge Masvidal in round 2 for the win, shocking his opponent as well as the rest of the world with his power in the stand up game.
If he thought he was going to get respite following his big win, he was sadly mistaken. There’s no rest for the wicked goes the saying, but in this case it was McGregor who seems to have started the war of words on twitter.
Posting a video of himself as support for his claim, Conor McGregor said:
Usman even copying my shots now. Am I to fight this guy at some stage? I think so. Can’t be copying my words and my shots and not get a smack for it. I like 170. It’s mine soon.
Of course it didn’t take long for the undefeated UFC Welterweight champ to chime in and reference’s McGregor’s mixed results as of late:
Except when I touch you at 170, they go out. They don’t even go out at 155 anymore for you. I finish people. You get finished.

The war of words continued, with McGregor referencing his giant-sized balls which he says are are the “biggest in Ireland” and his fists which he calls “hammers”. Basically, more of the same old trash talk from the Notorious. But he might be overstepping here, considering his mixed results as of late and Kamaru Usman‘s aboslute dominance at 170, this could be a major mismatch if it ever happened. Now that Usman has added huge power into his already dominant arsenal, he could seriously hurt the smaller McGregor if these two ended up duking it out at 170, which Conor hinted could happen at some point in the future.
At this point in time this just inconsequential trash talk as McGregor has a long ways to go before even considering a fight against Usman, or moving up to 170. But if the fight did end up happening, it’s hard to see how Usman wouldn’t dominate the smaller McGregor considering his elite level wrestling skills, matt game and just overall power, all elements that the Notorious tends to struggle with.
