The Women Of Honor division is dead. The final nail in its coffin was when the current champion, Kelly Klein was released over a year ago. Since then, Ring Of Honor has returned and refocused, and has been putting on solid PPV events and weekly TV. They’ve reestablished the Pure Rules division, and got the Tag Team, TV & World Title divisions back on track.
Now, they are looking to do the same thing for the women of ROH, as they plan to bring a match from the division every single Wednesday on the build to their coming tournament. There’s a new name in charge behind the scenes, and talent to reveal. Let’s look at what we know.
No Confirmed New Names For Tournament, But Plenty Of Time For Ring Of Honor To Build Up A Roster
With Jonathan Gresham (current Pure Rules Champion and ROH Dojo trainer) now in charge of the women’s division in ROH, there is a lot of hope for the division to turn around. With a tournament to crown a Ring Of Honor Women’s Champion planned for the summer, these weekly matches are a way to build the roster up.
We can expect Mandy Leon, Angelina Love, and Quinn McKay to all be involved, as they’re the most consistently seen women on the ROH roster right now. Leon & Love were in The Allure with Velvet Sky, and McKay hosts Week by Week and is training to make her debut. Amy Rose hasn’t been seen since she got booted from La Faccion Ingornable, but trained in the ROH Dojo, making her a fair bet.
Could Zelina Vega Be Part Of This Roster?
A potential ace for the division comes in Zelina Vega, who was recently released from WWE and signed somewhere, but is waiting to tell everyone. This makes ROH a strong chance, given the coming tournament and slow reveals. Vega was challenging for the RAW Women’s Championship just before her release, which came after she supported unionization.
Other names from the Women of Honor division still listed on the ROH site are Jenny Rose, Kellyanne, Session Moth Martina, and Maria Manic, so hopefully some of them will be involved as well.
