It looks like WWE Raw Preview is going to have an interesting time tonight as we get ready to kick off some new storylines along with old feuds.
A couple of these don’t have the fresh feel we’d prefer, but there’s no ignoring they can have great matches. Unless one destroyed the other recently. Then it just feels forced.
MVP’s explanation
After celebrating his win last week over Braun Strowman and Randy Orton and keeping a feud that has more lives than the Fiend alive, Drew McIntyre was ambushed.
It wasn’t so much that he was attacked as it was by whom. T-Bar and Mace, formerly of Retribution, jumped McIntyre and leveled him as it appeared they officially joined the Hurt Business.
So, McIntyre will be looking for answers from MVP about what he’s trying to do, and we think we’ll see T-Bar and Mace officially join he Hurt Business.
In response to McIntyre’s question, they’ll remove their masks and return to their old names, Dominik Dijakovic and Dio Maddin respectively, and attack McIntyre.
The Hurt Business will suddenly be a lot bigger and stronger, and it’ll lead to McIntyre eventually needing the help of Keith Lee and possibly another big fella to help counter them.
In short, this is how they’re going to reinvent this feud when it should be Bobby Lashley and Braun Strowman for the WWE Championship.
We’ve crossed into McIntyre-Orton feud territory now.
Charlotte Flair addresses her actions
WWE Raw Preview not surprised that Charlotte Flair picked up her feud with Asuka after missing out on her chance to challenge for the Raw Women’s Challenge at WrestleMania 37.
This one has plenty of potential for fun and games as it should remove both from the Raw Women’s Championship and allow us to watch them feud without a championship.
But this is the WWE, so after Flair addressed the WWE Universe and locker room for her reasons, she’ll face Asuka in the ring.
We fully expect Rhea Ripley to interfere since Flair attacked her as well and there’s no way Ripley will let that go unpunished.
Expect this to signify another triple threat at Backlash, this time for the Raw Women’s Championship.
There’s also the chance Becky Lynch will pop in as she’s been working out in Tampa and teased a WrestleMania appearance.
Braun Strowman vs. Randy Orton
This is being billed as their first ever one on one match, and it should be a good one after the show they put on in last week’s triple threat match for a shot at Lashley at Backlash.
But again, this is the WWE and it’s possible the Fiend could appear and take out both men with Alexa Bliss stepping in to further their feud.
It’d make as much sense as Orton defeating the Fiend at WrestleMania and this has the potential to be an awesome match, so something will probably happen to open the gimmick match box once again.
We hope we’re wrong on these and are the matches they’re capable of being and without interference or turning them into gimmick matches.
