How do you prepare to be in the ring with a legend like Sting in his first live match in six years? Ethan Page & Scorpio Sky have decided that picking off The Dark Order would be a solid way to tune their skills up. After singles wins over Alex Reynolds and Alan “V” Angels on AEW Dark: Elevation, this tag team will take on Evil Uno & Stu Greyson tonight on Dynamite.
Dark Order Lose Control Early
Dark Order would be around to back up Greyson & Uno here tonight, but wouldn’t hang out at ringside. Uno started with Sky, and they’d lock up in the middle of the ring. Sky took Uno down and disrespected him by walking across his back. Uno would get a wrist lock, and roll through with Sky as he tried to break it. Sky got free, and tagged in Page as Uno tagged in Greyson.
Greyson hit a slingshot DDT to the apron on Sky to take him out, and suddenly Page was isolated in the Dark Order corner. An elbow drop / sidewalk slam combo had Page looking for a time out, but Greyson instead hit him with a senton. Sky grabbed the ankle of Greyson before he did more damage, before tagging in for a twisting cutter.
An ode to Sting with the Stinger Splash would show some disrespect to his former favorite. Page tagged in, and hit a massive shoulder tackle on Greyson and nearly turned him inside out. Greyson was isolated in the Sky/Page corner, before trying to strike his way free. He’d get a moment and take to the top rope, before Sky grabbed his leg.
It’s Not All Ego With Ethan Page, His Skills Are Always There
Page pulled him from the top rope, before getting Greyson back in the corner. Some heavy strikes from Sky had him in trouble, but Greyson was more than ready to send them back. He’d punch Sky in the face and plant him with a urnage before getting the tag to Uno.
Uno would take down both opponents, sending Page across the ring with a hurricanrana and dropping Sky with a flatliner. Dark Order showed some teamwork with the Get Over Here, before the Cannonball/450 Splash combo for a near fall. Fatality would be set up, but Sky saved Page and locked in the heel hook on Greyson to render him useless. Page nailed Ego’s Edge on Uno and this one was over. If they can do this on Sunday, they’ll have a win over Sting to add to their resumes.
The best match of the night. Page & Sky continue to get better as a tag team, while Dark Order had their best duo front and center. It could have been even better if it ran longer, but this was a very good TV match from AEW. Match Rating: 3.25/5 (*** 1/4)
Following the match, Sting & Allin would run Page & Sky off after a brief brawl. Who will win on Sunday? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
